I would be quite excited too.. What mods did you get flashed for?
Would really like to hear your impressions post install (don;t think
that'll be an issue). Enjoy.

Question

Hmmm. So let me get this clear. You sent in your ecu telling them that you are going to add test pipes. So likewise they reflashed according to your test pipes? I mean if we don't have any mods, will a reflash be beneficial other than increasing redline?

The reflash costs %550 + shipping (both directions). They do want to know what mods you have. I am gonna dyno it on Monday and i do hope some gains. My currents mods are JWT pops, APS TD 2.5", and the test pipes. So, i hope to be close to the 300 whp.

probably, I mean technosquare has a dyno chart on a stock 2003 (it on their web) with their reflash it gained like 10 whp/wtq. I guess it will be beneficial since we know that the HR motor already has pretty efficient intakes, and cats. I dont know give it a try.

Dude... let us know how it turns out... My '08 feels like it will never have a twin turbo kit on the market... this might be cool though.

guys ya'll missed out on the forums where these were discussed. I'll fill ya in... Most of us 07- 08 HR guys lost some HP do to aftermarket CAI's.

I had dual NISMO intakes setup and the NISMO exhaust system and went from 249.6 rwhp to a reflashed 287.9rwhp
and from 210.4 tq to 242.7 tq.

Only difference is i got her up on the dyno for the tune which i strongly recommend. Everyones numbers are going to be differenct regardless.

Technosquare did say if i put the stock intakes back on which i have i would be looking at a increase of close to 10hp that was missing over the range of the rpm band.

And YOU DO FEEL THE DIFFERENCE after the reflash and tune. Its got much more throttle response and smoother and slightly quicker acceleration.

It aint a turbo but it is a start. An yea it does suck that not much is out for us yet. Vortech is to be putting out a supercharger at the end of this year for us according to a authorized dealer on this site. Thas where my money is going =)

Hope this helps

Hello. I was aware that anything but stock intake is a power waste on the HR (even if it sounds better). Thank you for the other information as well.

I thought I had a pretty good clue about building up cars. I however do not get how you tune a stock Z? Really... I guess you could throw it on a dyno and teak the timing a bit? Other then that, what can you do?

Thanks for your feedback.

Do you already have baseline numbers?

+1 Thanks Alex. Hopefully it will pull harder with the stillen headers and GTM valvebody upgrade. But out of any performance mod i've done this is definetly been the most influential and imo the best bang for the buck mod. BTW not this weekend but the next one we are for sure going to do another canyon

the answer to that is unfortunately NO. However, i would like to see the final number if it is close to the 300whp, less, or it is exceeding it. like i said monday is my dyno run.

you better do a thorough research before you make such a substantial move and buy the stillen headers.

as i matter of fact i am pretty satisfied with the JWT pop chargers. or i guess they create all that additional sound which deceives me, but i think they are in general better than any other intake currently being sold on the market

by the way I STILL HAVE NOT DRIVEN THE CAR. I have not had time to install the test pipes. This in fact will be done on Saturday.

I've read threw all the threads talking about headers on the HR and most people believe that headers will not help or help very little. I decided that I am ok wiht that and will be the guinea pig for everyone since the increased sound and even 5 HP is worth it to me, especially since I am going with a custom single turbonetics turbo in about 3 months.
