Hey guys right now i have the nismo exhaust, and i really like the sound but im looking for something maybe a little louder. Do guys think that the HKS would be a good choice for me? Any input would be greatly apprciated. I have an 07 Auto Enthusiast (thats why its in the HR section) Which is the better sounding if you had to choose? HKS or Nismo

i think the nismo exhaust is louder and sounds 10 times better compared to hks exhaust

 

If you are looking for something louder, then HFCs is your answer.

+1, i would just get HFC or TP. that would make it lauder and would also give more HP. if you get the HKS and then get TP then you'll get some rasp. though some people like that

My input on this is. I have a stillen y-pipe and stock axlebck. I put on resonated test pipes and holy ****.. Enough said.

 

i actually dont think my nismo got any louder with my berk hfcs =x, i think they'd definitely get louder with tp though, although ive read it gets really raspy with tp

 

u used to have the HKS + crawford HFC the sound was exellent no rasp.

 

If your worried about rasp. Get resonated ones. I got them and they almost eliminate rasp. U get it. But not too bad..

 

They both sound like *** with test pipes. Although the nismo does sound better with high flow cats stay away from it with test pipes.

 

Isnt the nismo exhaust notorious for cracking hfc and tp though?

iv had both. With test pipes my nismo was raspy but sounded so good. Now my hks is alot lower with little rasp and sounds amazing. Btw I'm selling my hks for a good price

 

Hmm, I have test pipes with my hks exhaust (I also have stillen headers, but it doesn't change the sound quality at all in my opinion), I cream my pants when I drive my car. Only downside is that it rasps when you go full throttle, however its only noticeable when im inside of my car, I let my friend drive my car and he flew by me at full throttle and the rasp isn't that noticeable from outside the car

 

+1, I had the HKS with test pipes and now HFC, it is a sound that is hard to beat.

 

I'm guessing it cause from nismo Y-pipe, flexline isnt flex enough

 

i have the da HKS system on my o8 and maybe its just me but i think its da perfect exhaust for da Z i luv it i cant wait untill i get test pipes (HKS ALL THE WAy)
