Default Lucas synthetic stabilizer. good or bad?

So for the past 2 oil changes I've been putting 5 quarts of mobil 1 5w30 full synthetic and less then half a quart of lucas synthetic oil stabilizer in my car. (I know the right amount of oil should be around 5 and 1/8 quarts, but since i drive the car hard once in a while I put a little more just incase it burns quicker.) Before these 2 oil changes I ran the car with conventional oil. I know every car will burn a tiny bit of oil if its been driven hard, but ever since I switched over to the synthetic with the lucas stabilizer, I've noticed it burning more then it used to with conventional. My driving habits have not changed since then, so I doubt it would be because of that. Would it be burning more oil then usual because of the lucas stabilizer and because Im adding less then half a quart of oil over spec? I've looked on other oil threads on here and it seems that most of you HR owners are claiming that it doesnt burn a drop of oil. I've got an 08 with 10k on the odo. Thanks!

BTW This article is making me think the lucas stabilizer is helping burn the oil quicker: http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/images/lucas/lucas.htm

The only time I myself would suggest it is if you have a slight knock and going to trade in right away.

Snake oil...I wouldn't waste the money.

kram, I don't know what an oil stabilizer has to do with knock...I think you are thinking of octane booster?

^ Well I think kram is right. lucas claims they quiet down the engine. So I would guess it should take care of that slight knock. But thats not the case or problem here. But its good to know that both of you think its a waste. Wanting more input, please!!! THANKS!
