anyway to check if it affects our cars?( like vin specific?)

Took mine in and they tested it and they said it didnt apply to me. But they couldnt tell me why a couple of months ago when I went to Atl with my GF the F'ing air bag was off the whole time. She weighs enough to activate it, and its a huge safty issue to me!! And its not the first time this has happened.

I got the print outs of the test, and told them if something happened i would be covered. I hope nothing does happen, but im not happy at all right now.

Pretty sure the passenger airbag system is designed to deploy only if the occupants weight exceeds a certain amount, i.e. 125lb's or so... The reason for this is airbags can do more harm than good to kids so it auto-detects if there is a "kid" in the passenger seat and deactivates the airbag. I have seen this in many other cars, there is nothing wrong with your airbag systems...

(except those with with malfunctioning varistor)

 

Is the 125 limit for the 350Z?? or are you just relating this to other cars you know about???

 

I always thought it was 80 lbs.
