yea... for 24 more hp out of the box
seriously dude, just spend 800 bucks on a nitrous kit and make 100hp... or mod your HR and you'll save a grand or more and make the same power... I see what you're sayin with starting with a "better platform" but is it really worth the price diff? for that much money put an LS1 or LS 2 in it!
I would if I were gonna spend that much and not go FI or something for huge gains

having the 3.7 motor would be pretty cool. They're making over 320 whp with simple boltons... def cheaper than going with GTM's turnkey twinturbo setup, and probably a heck of alot more reliable.

I look at it like this. Say 5k to do the swap. Me doing the work along with ecu and a tune. Plus what I can sell my hr motor for which doesn't even have 8k on it. I would not be out to much money at all.
Last time I checked ANY twin turbo system (even on the gates) will make minimum 350whp. With exhaust 370+. These talks about "saving money" to achieve what a twin turbo system will cost are silly as it goes against the notion that the nature of man is they all want more power. It's self-evident even in wanting to purchase an intake or an exhaust or plenum spacer. Now you're talking about doing a 3.7l swap, never having done it, not knowing the full extent of the swap, and yet rationalizing it by saying that you'll get 320whp...
Are you able to fool yourself to the level that you actually believe that will be enough power, and then, still a good 60-100whp off of what you could have by doing a twin turbo?

lol im not saying that. but, i said some more investigation will give me what i need to know. im happy with na power. but later on if i go FI. ill have a better platform to start off. im not saying it will even work. it might not be worth it. im sure as time goes by and more of the 370's and g37's get trashed the cheaper the motors will become.
I don't see you having a significant advantage running the 3.7, other than getting the slightly stouter rods, you get a bit larger displacement, and variable valve lift. Cams etc. will be more straight forward with the HR.
why not just trade in teh HR and get a 370?
i still dont know why people engine swap when the VQ is a fantastic motor to boost. LS2 thing is interesting but how much power is a LS2 gonna produce in a Z vs a GTM TT kit? YOU HAVE TO PAY TO PLAY. there is no getting around it.
