Dear Matthew,

I hope all is well!

Great news!

Let me know if you are interested.

I followed up with this response:

Subject: Re: VQ35HR Supercharger

Margaret,

I noticed it's not listed on your site as of yet--are there any
performance numbers associated with it and will it be C.A.R.B. legal?

thanks

And her reply:

Matthew,

I hope you had a great weekend!
We are working on it...

Best regards,

Margaret Lo

Well as we all know Stillen hasn't been very upfront about this product--it does seem strange to me that Margaret would contact me out of the blue and tell me it would be ready next week and then not be able to answer some pretty basic questions. Stillen has definitely missed the mark on this one.
thanks for updating us. this sucks!!!

Latest info from Margaret:

Pricing is currently $6299 for the satin supercharger.

I'm looking for pictures…(her, not me)

I do know that you need to cut the underside of hood for clearance.

I do know that our most recent customer with a 350z automatic got ~375hp at the rear wheels.

That's about 110hp over the factory.

Thanks for the update! I know that hoods need to be modified at times to accommodate the SC, but...damn...I wonder how much we're talking about here. I'm envisioning some hole in the hood

Default Stillen SC

The biggest issue was having to permanently remove the core support brace and the OEM strut brace.

Made some small modifications to the underside of the hood so everything could fit. Anyway, I'm still going to try to find a solution to at least the strut brace issue.

Default Stillen SC

Here're some pictures of the hood mods and the intalled SC. I took it for a quick drive w/o the hood b/f having to go on a business trip. Needless to say, I can't wait to get back home to drive the finished product. I've made arrangements to dyno it as soon as I get back.

fairly surprising you have to notch your hood for proper fitment

I agree. To add to this, the OEM strut brace won't fit anymore. Would appreciate help w/this issue.

When does it go on the dyno? Carb legal is nice, 50 whp (give or take) less than GTM sucks though. I hope it makes more than 375. How much boost is it making?

I don't return home for a few days. I'm hopingto pick it up this weekend. I will put it on a dyno, I believe it's a DJ, within the next week or so. It came w/a 7lbs (3.34) pulley. I won't know HP, boost, torque, etc for sure until after the dyno pulls.

Sounds like you're familiar w/the Stillen SC. I hope it does at least, if not a little more, than 375 as well. Any input on power and my strut brace problem is welcomed.

So, it looks like the GTM kit is much more "car friendly" in terms of a bolt-on installation without modifications. Unless you need it to be carb legal, I do not see any reason to go with the Stillen kit.

Custom strut brace might be the only way to go, let us know what you end up doing.

Not to disrespect you or your car as I'm sure it's a blast to drive, did Stillen even know about the GTM supercharger? They must have right? Then why put out a kit you have to chop up you hood and can't run a tower brace. I guess they were banking on CARB legality for their sales. This is disappointing.

Another note, I'm sure your Stillen tune is pretty conservative, you could get a more aggressive tune. I'm sure there's room for more power.
