So what GTR conversion kit did you go with MM if not RJM (trying to get a handle on the conversion kits out there haha)? Sounds like JMS did your conversion?

Just bought Gamma Motors Lower plenum and fuel rails that's it, I bought all the other parts on eBay like gaskets and that oil cap. I don't think I spent anything close to $1500.

😉👍🏼

I'm not sure if they were going to make new ones or just cut my old ones.

You will need a tune for this to work.

Everything is coming along great.... Now I need to get rid of that ugly coolant tank.... I hope the GTR Alpha Expansion tank fits...

Well People BAD News!!! The car lost power and was actually struggling to make power my tuner went only up to 18 psi and only made 600whp when with the OEM manifold I made 600 WHP at only 10 psi..... I am saddened by this, but now we all know the GTR manifold conversion is only meant for VQ37VHRs

No way! I'm sure you need to get it tuned right? There's more volume of air in comparison to stock manifold that needs to be accounted for.

The guy at 370z forum reschedule their dyno for Monday on the RJM version.

I was reading the 370z forum and the guy have both GTM and RJM to compare. With the RJM, It sounds like he lost power also w/o any tune and didn't post the results bc of that. The car was running a leaner AFR due to the higher air flow of the manifold. I'm curious how it would affect N/A application.

Thats just switching his lower intake, as he already had a GT-R upper before. While that is interesting in its own way, he is not going to see a whole lot of difference between the 2 different lower intakes and whatever difference he does see will not help anyone know what to expect when leaving their stock manifold for a GT-R upper regardless of which lower they choose.

MM'08_350Z has just experienced first hand that the GT-R manifold geometry is less ideal over-all. Looks prettier, and will obviously hold up to boost better since its not plastic... but it reduces the efficiency of the engine as a whole. Which is what I have been predicting for years.

So the question is... will MM'08_350Z keep the GT-R manifold on it, or will you go back to a HR or VHR manifold?

Did your car at least pick up some midrange torque from the GT-R conversion? I would have expected to see some mid-range and low-end gains and then some pretty significant top-end losses.

I definitely went back to the OEM plastic manifold, Power over looks for sure

Are you sure this is all about the upper???

Could be your kit/turbos/efficiency in combo with the upper??

Those types of loses can not be from a GTR upper.

There is something going on whether boost leaks, other inefficiencies, maybe tune wise. I dont see a GTR upper needing 8psi with same numbers. That's wild!!!

BUT, speaking with a former GTM lower user who could have guess it, thing needs to be re-decked, its not even flat, its probably leaking boost, the injectors are at a **** angle, etc etc etc

Who could have guess a GTM product sucked. Been there done that.
