small update: (sorry I couldn't update this thread daily)

After test driving the car for the past couple of days all I can say is WOW..
it drives like stock and shift like one, no more clutch sticky pedal or any of that crap even with the quad clutch .

These are couple of pics showing the front cover work. (we couldn't find tranny cover (DE engine tranny) in the dealer nor the wrecked tranny yard so had to modify my front cover (HR engine tranny))

I need to gather the rest of the pics and upload them later.

Fell free to ask me anything.

Great job and congrats on the car being up and running. Did you have to get any parts in addition to the parts listed in your first post?

The parts needed are:

1. Release bearing
2. Release bearing sleeve
3. Holder spring (03 and early 04 are different than 05-06)
4. Withdrawal lever (03 and early 04 are different than 05-06)
5. Retainer spring
6. Dust cover
7. 03-06 350z slave cylinder
8. 03-06 350z slave cylinder hose
9. pivot
10.DE tranny front caver if you want to do ATS way or use your HR tranny front cover if youwant to do it may way

The price for all the parts from 1 to 9 is less than $200.

The pics below will show you the DE tranny and the HR tranny parts:

I'm going to check Courtesy Nissan for everything listed. Hopefully the pricing is about the same. Few questions...

Did you order the holder spring and withdrawl lever for the 03-04 or 05-05?

Would it be possible to list a part number and where to purchase each part?

I got it from the wrecked tranny yard for $ 6-8 bucks (I think its the 03- early 04)

Would it be possible to list a part number
will do that later. I gotta go to work now.

where to purchase each part?
I live in the Middle east and got them from the dealer.

I had hot start issues before and I would tap the accelerator as it began to fire and it would keep it from hovering around 2-300 rpm. I had my local tuner play with the tune a little and we were able to get it a lot better than it was but still not 100% but I am satisfied with it.

so just to make sure, do you use and hr clutch with this or a de clutch? what about flywheel?

when you say tranny front cover, you mean the bell housing right? so you just modified your existing hr bell housing? what exactly did you do? any chance you can take pics of your setup?

mad props for doing this and taking the risk for the rest of the hr community!

Hope someone finds the time to type up an actual DIY. That would be great.

To be honest with you it wasn't a DIY for me (since my mechanic did it anyway) or it will be for the average people because you need the tools and skills to do such thing like this and the access to a machine shop if you want to do it my way and modify your HR tranny front cover. but I think it would be a lot easier if you use the DE tranny front cover since it already come with "tube" that controls the movement of the release bearing sleeve and you just need to make a spacer for the pivot.

I think the vendors here should really start consider doing this or at least make and sell the parts, brackets and spacer to make this an easy DIY.

was just going to type that

not going to really be a total DIY as it's a fairly involved install.

we'll have a package posted on our site shortly with all the parts needed from start to finish.

glad it all worked out for you

it's one of the things you find when modding - sometimes going backwards, is really going forwards
