Anyway, doing the mods I did makes 300 whp on both Dynojet and Dynapack dynos

As it has been stated each dyno is different and different days (temp/humidity, etc.) play a part in that.

It's reasonable to accept some degree of variance when sharing dyno numbers.

The chart below came from a rule book I have and illustrates just how different dynos can be. It's purpose is to derive crank hp from whp.

From my experience these factors are fairly realistic.

 

People ask questions in forums to get the correct answer. When the question is "what bolt-on mods can I do to the HR to make over 300rwhp" it's gets tricky. This is because there are a lot of shops that either have shitty dyno's, the people setting up the dyno don't know what they are doing, OR people dyno in the wrong gear therefore get innacurate readings.

The unfortunate thing is that people believe their dyno sheet and will not even humor the thought it could be off. These people (like the guy that thinks he is putting 320rwhp with a few bolt-on's) will come in here and swear the information is correct and therefore people get the wrong information.

I guess if we are going to go that route, I guess the 334rwhp I dyno'd on a local shops dynojet, when it was 99 degrees outside with 99% humidity is correct. Does this mean I have the most powerful HR with bolt-on's or did I just get a faulty dyno reading? All three pulls were off by less than 1hp for that matter.

See, I know better than this and as stated before, the accurate rwhp of my car is 296. I even think A.H.'s dyno sheet is wrong but whatever, he's not posting up 320 or higher dyno sheets.

If you want to believe you pushed 320 or 330rwhp, fine. Not my problem but because you refuse to believe it could be wrong no matter how many people tell you it's wrong, makes you give people false hope and expectations they will get from the thousands of dollars they will spend to try and get there.

You want over 300rwhp guaranteed no matter what dyno, go FI and don't waste your money on NA upgrades.

 

The focus needs to be on the delta gain, regardless of the type of dyno.

 

03threefiftyz, I don't understand your quote. Do you think you know more about the HR motors than the people that have spent the money to upgrade them?

I agree with you Lakeside and as I stated earlier, I only get 296rwhp (middle of florida summer) and to this day that's the strongest my sponsor has seen from the HR with simple bolt-on's. I also stated before that breaking 300 would be nearly impossible even if it was 40 degree's outside.

 

I don't have problem with him, but his numbers (and any from that dyno) are garbage and to be taken with the largest grain of salt every seen by man. What have you done to help the community?

 

I try and help people and stay away from making meaningless posts that do NOT help. Actually try and give the answers the people are trying to get.

I don't know where A.H. is from but yes, as stated before, I don't agree with his numbers either. People just need to stop trusting the only dyno they have ever been on. You want an accurate dyno, go to a well known shop with a newer, more expensive (yes, price almost always is relative to quality) model. Then you "may" get a accurate dyno result as long as you do your pull in your closest 1:1 gear and the person operating the dyno know what they are doing.

 

Any of you HR's with 300+ whp take your cars to the drag strip? I'm wondering what times you guys get.

 

X2. Mine saw 293rwhp with Injen Dual CAI, Berk HFCs, UPREV Tune, MotorDyne Shockwave,ypipe. It's possible to go over 300rwhp on a dynojet, but I don't see it going much more than that.

Dyno'd 281 whp recently on a DJ and have all the HR bolt on + conservative Uprev tune.

Dyno'd 289 whp on the same dyno with just bassani and ingens no tune about a year ago.

I'll take my 281whp over the original 289whp any day of the week. Peak dyno numbers are like those little trophys you'd get playing sports as a kid. Makes you feel good at the time, but in the grand scheme of things... they don't mean ****.
