finally a legit 300whp+ HR. no bs crap on dynoqueen dynos. good schit dude. its takes a lot more work to hit 300whp then most HR owners were led to believe.

 

Hmm I hit 270 RWHP on a Dynojet with just an aftermarket cat-back exhaust...

Mine was in 5th gear, not sure if that matters.

 

All dyno's differ. I got 274 whp with HKS exhaust, Stillen HFC's, Injen CAI's, and Cobb 2+1 tune...on my dyno. I figure it was maybe 15 whp better than stock ( unfortunately I didn't dyno my car on this dyno stock ). That puts me at roughly 40 whp over stock...if my stock estimate is right.

 

Oh I feel you dude. My post was just in response to Nexx's. I don't think it matters what brand your dyno is.. all that matters is that you use the same one each time. Nice numbers! And sick car!

 

dynojets and dyno dynamics are usually consistent all around. the dynopacks usually read high and mustangs can be all over place, read low or high.

 

Corrected.....I rarely see dyno dynamics with similar correction inputs (or just completely uncorrected.

 

i am about to do some Long tube headers, and custom exhaust, maybe i'll break into the 320s? im at 294 heat soaked, stock headers clutch and flywheel, not with a lightweight flywheel it should free up some power to make it to the wheels + whatever gains from the long tubes and a proper x pipe.

Exactly what I was wondering.

 

I hate to burst your bubble but the only way a NA VQ35HR 350Z will break 300hp is if the engine is "built" or you have all upgrades including cams. So if you dyno'd at 294, that dyno was wrong.

The VQ35HR is 306HP stock. You have to minus 15% - 18% for drivetrain loss. This puts it stock at 251 - 260 RWHP. Since this is not a V8, you are not going to gain 60+ rear wheel horse power from an intake, exaust, headers, Pulley, HFC's or Test Pipes.

Sure there are people that say they have hit 320rwhp this way but it's because they believed the dyno was correct when it isn't.

Let me give you an example. I had every single NA upgrade you could do to the HR except cams. I also had it tuned. The upgrade brands I went with were chosen with a lot of research and we ended up with 296RWHP on a DynoDynamics Dynomite dyno. This is a superb and expensive dyno that S&R Performance uses. This was the strongest they had seen an NA VQ35HR do with bolt on's and that's still true today.

After that I wanted to see how different dyno numbers could be so I took the car to Z-Fever the very next day. Come to find out it can very A LOT! Z-Fevers dyno showed me doing 336hp to the rear wheels! I have since been on other "high quality" dyno's and sure enough, 296RWHP is what they always show.

One user in this post put cams in and, if I remember correct, broke barely over 300RWHP which I believe.

If you want bigger power, I would recommend Twin Turbo. You can get a better "dollar per dollar" HP gain going turbo and the HR motor can handle almost 600RWHP and you could at least run 500RWP safely.

 

Long tube intakes, Stillen makes them but I like the Injen SP1987 better.

I am only at 296 RWHP! I have debated installing test pipes having the car tuned for a custom mix of race fuel and 93 oct.

I always have leaded 110 oct on hand. I run straight 110 oct in my Mod ski and 96-97 oct in my Spec ski. I am curious to try test pipes and a tune for around 98 oct properly diluted 110 oct.

I figure I should beable to hit 300+ RWHP then.

Sorry but you went to performance motorsports. The most inflated dyno in history. With a custom press bent catback made by me with test pipes untuned with nismo short rams I made 306whp. Also their shop 370Z at the time with just test pipes made 330whp. GTFO! Not ragging on you at all but this dyno is rediculous. You think with those mods I made anywhere near what this guy with the blue Z made? Come on...
