Is the VQ35HR that much better than non-rev up?
I'm trying to justify saving more $ for an '07 with the HR engine versus an earlier model. I know the HR makes 306hp vs 287, but the non-rev ups make more torque at lower rpm. Is it worth it for me to save for an '07?

Don't forget, you're trying to compare a vehicle that was rated before the SAE horsepower certification standard took effect in 2007. A rating of 287 HP in 2003 would be closer to 270 horses by today's SAE standards. A SAE-certified 306 HP would have been something like to 320 horses prior to 2007. Therefore, you're looking at something closer to a 30+ horsepower gain from 2003 to 2007 with the HR engine.

knowing what I know now (pricing and no s/t or s/c for the HR )... i would've gotten an '03 w/ a blown motor... put a built engine in ( prob from IPP ) and then a power-lab kit on it and called it a day.....
But if your sticking to stock or na power... then go for an HR without question.....

Thanks for the replies. I'm on track for saving for a real good down payment on an '07 enthusiast or touring. Looking to buy next spring or summer. The wait is killing me.

I'm only looking to spend about $18-19K.
Sorry if this topic is beating a dead horse...I'm not looking for a in depth discussion on this vs that. Just looking for opinions on whether it's worth it for me to save for an '07.
