The dyno in that article was using STD correction instead of SAE, which is probably why it was reading higher. Still, a gain of 16hp from baseline is better than I was expecting.

Im considering the Gen 3's in the new year. I got rid of the short Nismo intakes I had as the heat soak was incredible no doubt ... I now have stock intake with HKS super hybrid panel filters. I would love the noise back but also something that will add performance gains come Uprev remap time.

My current setup is:

- 350z HR model
- Stock intake with HKS panel filters
- Ichiba Y Pipe
- Kinetix HFC's
- Nismo Exhaust System

What type of gains would I expect with the Gen 3's with a custom map?

Also could someone just cofirm that the Nismo muffler will pair with the HR stock mid pipe? (Pipe from Y pipe to Muffler section)

Thanks, Chris

EmptyKim ... Whats your thoughts on this intake, did you see much gains with it?

Have you any of your graphs to show the difference over stock.

The intake sounds AWESOME and the improvement in power is decent. I think I notice the low end gains the most since its most usable during daily driving, but could just be a mental thing.

The graph is in the article from Modified. You'll notice we hit the speed limiter (5th gear pull), hence the sharp drop off at ~7,200 rpm.

Those intakes are pretty loud....are you running stock exhaust? You'll probably see decent gains after a tune.

Can you post the dyno graph? Somehow my computer can't access every article on Modified...

I think the sound of the intake is most prominent on stock exhaust or exhausts not obnoxiously loud since those exhausts tend to overlap the sound of the intake.

Work blocks YouTube so I'm really interested to see when I get home. I do know that with this intake and my other bolts ons, it VERY friggin' loud at WOT. I also feel minimal gains at bottom end, only mid to high and it really pulls.

That was the dyno pictured in Modified Magazine on a base HR with no other bolt ons. They're claiming each pull showed a 16hp increase with the CAI.

272whp baseline? That's a pretty generous dyno

The gains based on that dyno run is pretty impressive. A lot better than the dyno sheet of the Injen dual CAI......

A Q:

Will the 370z Gen3 ultra long intake fit the 350z HR?

The Stillen Gen 3 fits the 07-08 350z (all models) and the 370z models except the Nismo 370z model.

True, but there are individual kits for each application, and they are slightly different. The 370Z kit is NOT a bolt-on for the 350Z kit.

Here's the page with all of the part numbers for each application: http://www.stillen.com/product.asp?i...=STILLEN&m=all

Also, the 370Z kit will fit a Nismo edition with mild trimming of the plastic air venting, we just haven't built a set of specific instructions so it's not listed as an option, although a lot of Nismo 370Z owners have installed the Gen 3's without a problem.

Okay, so it appears that several people have been able to install it on an HR 350Z without modifying the core support, correct?

That should make it BSP legal....
