4.08 Gears on BASE 350Z?
Ur guna be spinnin like a ***** in 1st an 2nd w a good diff in there so just imagine wat it would be like with a cappy vlsd....i have heard that the quaife isnt as good as some ofthe other ones. If you look around you will see what im talking about. For a couple hundred more u could have a sure fire way. I was lookin into a lsd for a while for my 07 and i came to the conclusion of carbonetics or kaaz. Not sure about the kaaz tho as i had mixed reviews of it being loud. If you do decide to go with somthung other than the vlsd i would not get the quaife.
i have an 08 base that likes to see the drag strip...what do i need to swap a stock lsd in. might just go with some nitrous for now then maybe turbo or super.. not sure yet of all these single black stripes in the street in front of my house
i know these are noob questions but i been dealing with rx7s for the past 15 years
I wouldn't say much??? other than the ability to shim properly?? not even?
Perhaps just wait around in the forums until someone throws a whole pumpkin up with a LSD or VLSD out of a non base model.
Hows your clutch holdin up in your 08?

thats what i figuerd is wait for a used one. sad part is i didnt know about the oopen dif on the base model. dont know how i missed that detail. anyway as for my clutch, i have 61 k on the car and yes it needs a new clutch. cant grab gears like i want to.. Ran a 13.800 @ 100.78 with it though with a 2.090 60'. my best mph was 103. is the 08 known for shitty clutches?

The OEM CSC are very prone to leaking / popping with hard usage and should not be used with an aftermarket clutch. Zspeedperformance sells an aftermarket heavy duty CSC, which is an all metal cylinder (with adapter fittings and braided hydrualic lines (worth every penny IMHO).
I've got approx. 4k miles on my Stage 2 southbend endurance clutch set with Zspeed's HD CSC and wilwood master cylinder and could not be happier.
