Just got slave cylinder replaced... Change fluid at same interval?
I just got my slave cylinder replaced and I assumed the dealer changed my clutch fluid. I was just wondering if the clutch fluid is the same thing as the transmission fluid, and if I should change it at 30k since I just got the recall done about 1500 miles ago... TIA
1st of all make sure the dealer didn't just top off the fluid, clutch & traNNy fluid are not the same.

I was suspecting the clutch and tranny fluid to be different because I read somewhere that clutch and brake fluid are the same? If so, does that mean the brake and clutch fluid shares the same reservoir tank?

The manual here suggests inspecting manual tranny oil at 15k and 30k..

They pretty much have to change the clutch fluid if they replaced the slave cylinder because the system has to be bled after the new slave cylinder is installed. You can look at the clutch fluid reservoir which is the small cylindrical reservoir next to the rectangular brake fluid reservoir.
Clutch and brake fluid are the same. They don't share the same reservoir.

In your part of the country y'all do some pretty fancy wrenching. I have just topped off the reservoir before when changing the clutch cylinder before, though I changed all the fluid soon after. I guess y'all could take a look at the color of the fluid or maybe, ask the dealership.

Point being, it requires more bleeding than the traditional clutch fork style on the earlier Z33s because of the location and increased fluid capacity of the cylinder itself. This is why I said they pretty much have to replace the fluid. Note, I did not say that it must be replaced but in my experiences a lot of the fluid is replaced with bleeding the new cylinder.
