I read somewhere the 35HR and the 40 have the same deck height. Likewise the manual trans in the six speed truck is the same as the g35. This guy is in the best situation to give this a shot.

Some interesting ideas no doubt. The VQ35HR heads on the VQ37VHR block is my only option right now though. However I have to wonder why they would make the VQ37VHR weaker. I think I'll hold out for a complete engine though and save these heads for when I decide to build up a different engine block.

Seriously??? This thread was a waste of time.... If you want the VQ37 so bad, trade your VQ35 in and save time, money and headaches. Good luck!

The magic 8 ball is not a place to be reading technical information... manual trans for a vq40 is completely different... the output shaft is completely different (shorter and solid)... the bellhousing is different but can be changed... for that amount of effort why not get a 01-03 pathfinder 5speed and swap the bellhousings to have a 5MT Perfect for fat power bands like the HR... or just rip it all out and put a kawasaki jet ski motor and a CVT from a Fugo S from nippon... and be sick JDM... my magic 8 ball says maybe they will bolt up!!!

I don't want the VQ37HR at all but it's all I can get right now. I'm holding out because it's a waste of time and I want to get the original VQ35HR if anything.

Default Still looking

Well I saw an engine today from a 2007 350Z (VQ35HR) but it's just sitting outdoors on a skid with no oil pan so I passed.

Just curious does anyone know what the difference is between the 2007 & 2008 VQ35HR engines in the 350Z for some reason they don't interchange.
