Default Injen CAI Installation Instructions?

I bought some used long tube intakes they didn't come with instructions. Does anyone have a .pdf file or something floating around? I've searched here already, and sent a guy a PM who claimed to have such file, but he said he has since deleted it. I also e-mailed Injen and have yet to hear back from them. Nothing on their website either. =/

I might be able to handle the install without them but I don't know about the horn relocation and whatnot... plus I'd like to be able to sleep at night knowing I did everything correctly.

Thanks in advance for the help.. and sorry about the lame thread.

John

You should be fine without it. the horn relocation is pretty much wherever it will fit and still works. can only go in like two places IIRC

disconnect battery, remove front bumper, remove plastic engine cover, remove factory intakes, relocate horns, install injen intakes (pretty straight forward), put bumper back on and testfit everything, and connect battery. enjoy.

Sorry to hijack the thread but since we're on the topic of installing injen cai, i'd like to ask a question...

What's the mileage interval for cleaning the filters? On this website, it says every 2-3k http://www.crackaddict.com/~flynn/ho...ncai.howto.htm

Stillen says their filters only need cleaning like once every 30k or something IIRC....

If you can't find it by 1 pm pst I'll get mine, scan all or the pages you need. I just have to go find the box. It's some where in the garage.

I have the blue amsoil filters too. According to amsoil we should clean them once a year or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first. And you are supposed to either vacuum the dirty side of the filter, or even better spray low pressure (15 psi) compressed shop air from clean to dirty side at a 45 degree angle. I called amsoil to make sure and they said DO NOT clean the filters by washing them as it will degrade the material and can gum it up.

If you have the red filters, they are oiled. You can clean and oil them using a K&N cleaning kit, follow the directions on the box, just be sure not to over oil it!! or you can hurt your MAFS. I would still follow the same time line as far as how often to clean.

hmm, i had my intakes on for about 8k miles and they look pretty dirty.. i might just spray them with some compressed air to clean them up a bit.

Of course if you live in a very dry and/or dusty area then you'll probably have to clean them more often..

I clean mine every other oil change, so I'll say every 10k miles.. at least my car hasn't show any negative side affects. I've had the intakes on for about 40k miles so far. Car has 63k. (talking about red k&n filters)
