Default Gas Pedal/Throttle Stop

I have performed a large number of searches on this topic and so far nothing has come up. I was looking at my Z's pedals the other day and I noticed that the gas pedal has a large, metal stop welded on the back of it. I was wondering if anybody had tried to remove the spacer or if even removing it would affect the throttle bodies' position during 100%throttle application? I know a lot of cars' throttle bodies don't actually open the full 90 degrees with the gas pedal floored so I was just trying to see if this was the case with the Z and possibly open up another untapped source of power.

Just a wild guess, but I'd expect that's taken care of in the throttle learning procedure.

A wide open throttle doesn't necessarily have the blade at 90 degrees. There may be other restrictions in the intake system, and something less than 90 degrees is sufficient for max airflow.

Its an electronic throttle. Not cable.

Leave it. It's there for a reason.

Z's are drive by wire meaning there is a computer that reads how far the "throttle" id depressed and moves the butterfly more likely than not its set to open to the optimum amount.

Ok, cool. I was just wondering if anyone had tried it. Thanks for the help!
