Default Possible cracked oem header?

Hey guys,

Any perpensity for the hr headers to crack? I've recently noticed a "new" sound that kinda sounds like a waste gate noise. Most noticeable between 2k and 3k rpm.

Only started hearing it a few days after I had my clutch and flywheel changed. It's not the transmission rattle. I have that sound between 1-1.5k.

The car has motordyne test pipes and an aftermarket exhaust. Had it on the lift at a local shop and they listened with a stethoscope and say there are no leaks on the exhaust and test pipes. They say they can't heck the headers.

I only really hear the sound inside the cabin. Not on idle when im outside the car.

Have someone sit in the car and rev while you pinpoint the sound.

Never heard of HR headers cracking but maybe the test pipes could of caused it.

That is why I am scared of putting HFC or TP on my car with the Nismo exhaust since I heard they tend to crack.

It might be a loose bolt causing the gasket to hiss as well. I've seen that before. Tightened it up & the sound went away. No CEL's?

^ +1 on possibly being a loose bolt.

I've only heard 1 cracked header, and it sounded closer to rock knock vs. wastegate noise.

The only thing I have heard since the clutch install is a slight whine in 3rd gear sometimes, other than that no weird noises.

Did they possibly remove the test pipes for the clutch job? I'd assume you have a leak there as opposed to a damaged factory manifold.

Hfc would prob do it is it usually when you slow down through the gear, if so then most likely is the hfc or tp mine dose it as well, might just be the back pressure noise ??

Yeah the noise comes and goes. I notice it less and less. Might be a hiss from the tp's, but I only noticed it after the clutch.

Will check the bolts for tightness just in case.

It seems to only do it after spirited driving. By the time I've slowed down, pull onto a ramp or let her idle to listen for the noise it's gone. In fact, I haven't heard it now for about 3 days.
