How strong are the HR Transmissions?
Hello all!
On the hunt for a G35 Sedan 6speed and i've came across a 08 and to be honest..... I know nothing of HRs besides engine respond better to mods etc. However lets talk about the ol tranny...
How does she do over time?
i've seen countless threads about notchy and switching fluids but are these as strong as the CD00A(9)?
The one I found in PA has 136K miles and of course engine wise i'm not afraid, and OF COURSE i have a used CD009 in my parts room
Let's talk
CD009 doesn't imply a swap. No discussion here

the only real problem i had with my HR was the csc, throw on art pipes, tdx2, and tune it... about all you can do. the best money i ever spent on that car, $300 for a pumpkin swap that had a quaife in it... my buddy was trading the car in and i scooped that pumpkin up with a quickness. hotchkis sways, and tokico d-specs were the second best things i did
I'm hoping the 05 im looking at has LSD. Only thing i plan on is intake exhaust spacer, coils or springs idk this time, sways and DONE.
Well maybe 2 sparco seats but that's it lol

The JK40 trans behind the HR will NOT work on a DE engine. It shares the basic internals and is therefore based on the last CO009 offered (or 00A if bought new currently).
Bolt pattern, clutch, input shaft, clutch actuation hardware all different.
Note: a JK 40 can be made to fit a DE but the thread on here detailing what it takes to do so, well, it's not plug and play and requires machine work.
Purely academic unless you actually have an HR engine in the G (you don't state what year.)
