I got mine done in RedDeer at Lightspeed Innovations he has done a few G35s and 350Zs. If worse comes to worse the dealership can do it I think they charge about $1000 most places should be $300-$500.

Don't waste your money at dealerships or any other shops for that matter. Go to Princess Auto (the man superstore) and get some cheap fog lights, I payed $15 for my. The fog light kit will have everything you need except a
12V DC relay, and that you get at Canadian Tire for $7. Go home and install it yourself in about 1h.

Use a voltmeter to check what fuse (in the fuse box under hood by battery) has 12V out when the car is running. Use this for your relay switching source. It's very easy, I think I tapped off of my washer fluid level circuit which is live ONLY when the car is running. This passed the Federal Inspection without a problem. If you want you can remove the fog lights at any time. The other benifit is that you don't mess around with any stock wiring at any point. It's just a wire that slides in with the fuse, and no harm can be done.

Nissan here in Edmonton quoted me $300, in case you were wondering.

I don't trust anybody with my vehicles, especially some High School drop out that took a weekend seminar on electricity and now works as a Tech. at Canadian Tire. But that's just me I guess.

Get it done right so car is legal for the street. Daytime running lights are the law to help improve safety on the roads. $300 is cheap to have it done right.

What's wrong with fog lights? Many cars actually have fog lights as their DTR's. Nothing wrong with it. I can't justify spending $300 for something so simple that a monkey can do.

The light are there for others to see you not for you to see the road, so any light will do.

This is the statement I dont agree with you are right by saying they are there so others can see you so why you do a temporary solution. If you got in an accident and you didnt have driving lights you would get your a$$ sued off. OP spend the lousy $300 and do it right. You saved thousands getting a car from the US so I wouldnt think $300 to make your car legal would be a big deal but thats just me I guess.

What makes it temporary? You can get any fog lights you want, that's completley up to the end user. My fog lights are still on there working just fine, and it's been 3 months since I did the install.

In Alberta we get bent over very often for everything, why not save a few $$$ when one can. Maybe the OP doesn't see $300 as "lousy $300". It seems that many 350z owners on here like to throw money around, just something I have noticed while reading posts over the last couple of months. If it's a cheap solution (financialy) it can't possibly work on a 350z. It's not a Ferrari, it's just a 350z/G35.

I'm not trying to argue with you, I'm just stating my oppinion on the matter. Ther are many different ways one can go about this, my way is just another option that I beleive is the best. That's all.

This all boils down to really shitty service we get wherever we go. It doesn't matter where you take your car, dealership or Canadian Tire ,you still get guys that couldn't complete High School working on your car. My old man takes his Saturn for repairs, and it's the same crap you get at Canadian Tire.

Eg.

Didn't have time to do a clutch job on my Ford Probe so I take it in to a "reputable" transmision shop. They get the job done and I pick the car up. On the way home I noticed that there is something wrong, the engine seems to be jumping around. I get home jack the car only to find the firewall engine mount was not bolted up. It was a pain to get to so the guys just thought F... it.
