it's the tire size... 275/30/19 is about an inch shorter (overall diameter) than a 275/35/19, which is causing your wheel gap and (not sure if you've noticed this yet but it's going to happen the first time you drive spirited) premature triggering of VDC.

Yeap, I ordered S03's already in 275/35/19. Also I have a BASE, so no need to worry about VDC hehe.
thanks anyways guys

it also looks more raised up right after the car has been jacked up - it settles down a bit about a day later.

245/35/19(F)and 275/30/19(R) have the same or similar overall diameter. Isn't that what you guys are usually going with on 19s?

I would have just purchased a new set of 275/30s and lowered the car. The higher profile will affect your gearing and speedometer. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct, those two tires would give you the same overall front and rear diameters, but the Z is intended to have a staggered diameter front to back.

The car comes from the factory with larger rears than fronts. The VDC is looking for that ratio at all times. By going with the 275/30 rears, those with any model but the base can have problems with the VDC kicking in prematurely. We need to use the 275/35 to maintain the factory wheel parameters.

(at least this is my understanding of this)

in my opinion, there is more than just a tire problem there...

I think it's the offset of the wheel more than anything. Not sure if anybody mentioned this, sorry, I skipped all the way at the end to post my take on this.

I think the offset is way too high so the wheels are pretty much way too far into the fenders. I wouldn't be surprised if they were like 40+ offset, where you would actually need 30 to be the same as stock, and lower if you want them to be more flush.

I have searched around with people on with same wheels, but right size tires, they look fine.
thanks guys. and thank mojo powered for letting me know.
it's all taken care of now.
also, the car sits much lower now, because i didn't realize the spring have to settle after i jack up the car.
thanks
John.

im really not sure way ur car looks so 4x4! i believe it lies in the offset of your rim! i have a stock suspention and i believe if you dont want to lower your car you should run 40 series to fill the wheel can! i have fallkens, 285/40/19 rear and 245/40/19 fronts. mine fit fine and look fine! here is a pic! hope it helps!

I have a 275/30/19 on my rear Volk TE-37 right now the rims were given to me for 1000 bucks with tires. I figured i would just replace them later. I have an enthusiest model and for your info the base and enthusiest dont have the VDC which in my opinion is useless for a skilled driver. I do have the LSD which is needed in our cars. I do notice if i dont turn my TCS off the slip light will come on VERY often so it would definately be advised to get 275-35-19. Whats weird to me is that my 275 looks a lot wider than your 285 SUPER TRACK, are you sure thats what you have on that rear rim? that looks more like a 255 to me just my 2 cents.

A 285/40/19 is 27.9 inches in diameter
the stock size in the rear is a 245/45/18 and that is 26.7 inches
that cant be your tire size bro that would mean your rear is over 1 inches than stock! The front are also over 1 inches than stock your car would look like a tacoma with those tire sizes

yea, im sorry for not responding to the whole ? i have 245/35/19 in the front and 285/35/19 in the rear! the tires are falken 451, and the 451 is not as wide of a tire as most, thats why i went with 285, rather then the 275! here is another pic that might help show the width a little better!
