Default Question to all those who own Iforged wheels!

I recently recieved a set of black 19inch aero's from Paul at Avalon. Even though it took a long time to get them here, it was well worth the wait.

My question is, the lip of all the wheels doesn't seem to be clearcoated. Only the actual spokes and center are. I was under the impression that the whole wheel is clearcoated, not just the center. Its been a bi*ch to clean the lip, since Z6 doesn't work too well on bare metal. Is the entire wheel meant to be clear coated? Also, what do you guys prefer, clearcoated lip or not?

Thanks, NICK

My center is ceramic coated, but you're right, the lip has no coating at all. I've had good luck with Meguiar's quick detailer so far (using a microfiber towel), but I'll bet the lips will eventually need some periodic polishing.

My TE37's were MUCH easier to keep clean, especially without having any rivets, but the iForged wheels do look amazing.....even when a little dirty. Certainly worth the extra work.

Mine only had the centers clearcoated. I brought my car in for service and the dealer's subcontractor backed my car into a truck and bent one. During the 9 months it took iforged to fix one and refinish them all, they clearcoated the wheels entirely, front and back. The curb protector feature of the toyo tires I got peeled a little of the clearcoat on the lip of the rim, and now, standing water in the inside valley of the wheels from rain is making that clearcoat peel. Obviously, I like the uncoated better, and I was actually a little upset when Vince told me they coated the whole thing. Count yourself as lucky they aren't.

tampas2k,
