I just ordered a set of these for my 240SX. I like them because they are open end and allow you to use upgraded (longer) wheel studs.

I have these as well & they work great. Definitely something you should get if you have aftermarket wheels.

Wow, amazing how we think alike, as I also have the J8s and I also just got my set of McGard SplineDrive Lug Nuts on Friday!

Since I'm going for the black/red theme on my car, I wanted something to pull up the color of my red brake calipers and McGard makes colored caps for this line of lug nuts. Unfortunately everyone I contacted was out of them. Since I had previously contacted McGard about the lugs, I emailed them back and asked them if they had any left, but I was told that they were on backorder. But then he added the following:

One of our largest distributors, American Racing, has a line of tuner wheels under the Motegi brand name. We build special Motegi kits for them. One of the kits is what you are looking for. Their part number is 2125492507.

Fortunately I have a friend who sells American Racing products and he was able to get me the set for $65 (his cost). Everything about them says McGard including the instructions, so in the event that the supplier is out of McGards, you have a second avenue. BTW, I believe that the part number above is for the Red Cap lug nuts so you should verify which ones you need.

Here's a picture so you can see what the whole lug nut looks like. Unfortunately it will be a couple of weeks before I can get them on the car!

This is a picture from their website that shows the different colors available:

I didn't go with Rays because they aren't the strongest lugnuts out there. steel > Duralumin

The splinedrives are supposed to have a deeper seat on them, but, compared to stock, would you say they actually grab more threads?
