19" Wheel & Tire Discussion Thread
#1163
I'm sorry to keep asking so many questions, I'm really trying to learn this stuff.
So I'm going to be sticking with the Stance wheels I bought so I'm still looking at tires. Will this size work...
245/45/19 and a 275/40/19
I found a real good deal on some Pirelli P Zero's but only this size.

265/35/19 vs 275/35/19
Sorry for the new thread, just a quick question about tire sizes..
I have an 07 grand touring Z with the VDC on it... Stock tires are 245/40/18 and the rears are 265/35/19.
I want to put 275/35/19 on the rear tires, and according to the "will these tires work with VDC" thread, I should be in the clear. I was just hoping somebody could confirm my theory, and if anybody has an experience with such a setup.
The new tires I am looking at are the Bridgestone Potenza S-04.
Many thanks!

Going from 265 to 275 will make no difference at all, might be better tire selection maybe?

Might I also suggest you look into the new Potenza RE760's, I just bought a set myself about two weeks ago and really like them for strictly street use

Ok so I had my 285's mounted today...wow that's a big tire. I test mounted it and its going to look great.
I'll be getting the fronts in a few weeks after I recoup some money from buying these. Anyway, what size would be better for a 8.5" wheel, 245/35/19 or a 255/35/19?

285/35r rubbing with19" LC818s (19x11 +20) - help please...
Title says it all... I have rebadged kw-v1's, but I'm at stock height.
What I'm considering:
1. Roll fenders. Easier said than done in Germany, as shops with this know how are difficult to find.
2. Go down to 19" 275/35r... With no guarantee it will fit.
What say you?

My German mechanic, who is admIttedly strange, was adamantly against it. He mentioned his willingness to try, but kept insisting no one does it. It may be a difference of German vs. American car cultures.
Putting it in the calculator, my 285/35r is 0.65" larger in diameter. Which puts the tire 0.325" closer to the wheel well. I am really uncertain if this matters. Everything I read online says it should fit, but I am getting nothing but blank stares when I mention fender rolling here.

As far as our comparo; as mentioned your cars is at "stock" height on KW-V1 coils. I'm considerably lowered on KW-V3's. So there should be no reason of you rubbing. In the end of it all... Roll your fenders.

First sounds to me that your "German mechanic" doesn't know what he is talking about. Rolling the rear fenders is almost done on every car that buys aftermarket wheels.
