I suggest you go here to get comparative tire sizes:

Been playing with it, just cant find any examples. That was my biggest issue was the wheel gap.

So 245/40 and 275/40 though eh? First time seeing that example. Can you show me a pic? Thanks

Unless you're just post whoring.

ANYWAYS, thank-you ronn1. Those fitments look great, what I was looking for. ( I found pics) Been quite the debate over in my house, thankfully I still have 3 months till they have to be on. Gave me quite a bit to think about.

Sooo.. should I go for the 18" konigs with the +45 offset for $450?
The rims won't rub against the clippers or control arm?

I'm betting those are either for a FWD car or for a Sedan, I would pass.

Read this thread for info on what is preferred fitment for a Z:

Default HOw Wide of a tire can i run on a 9.5 inch rim?

Im looking to get a wider set of tires on my Volks and the rear is a 9.5 inch rim and im running 245/40ZR/18s on them right and i want that more aggressive look. I was told by my wheel and tire guy that i could run 265/40ZR/18 on the back but that was pushing it. Anyone know what the max i could run? Thanks

i used to have a 8.5 f with 245/40
9.5 b with 275/40

that's a standard setup.

Your wheel and tire guy doesn't know what he is talking about. According to Tirerack you can run a 285 max on a 9.5 without issue, but you would want to drop down to a 35 aspect ratio so it doesn't look like your driving a 4x4 and to stay closer to your stock diameters. I am currently running 265/35/18's on 9.5's and would go wider if I could, but I'd probably rub.

What are you running on your fronts?

I run a 275/35. looks like the right fitment, 285 should be no problem.....295 would be insane.

My current setup is BF Goddridge G-Force 245/40/18R front, 295/35/18R rear. The tires are mounted on LMGT-4. No cuppling issues with the rear tires for over two years. I wouldn't track my car with that rear setup though. Like someone posted 285 tire is the ideal max for 9.5" rims.

While 295 is the widest you can run, 265 is the optimal size for 9½" If you want the best handling and riding size, go with 255-275.

I would probably just run a 275/40 out back, that is standard fitment and looks great. Or you can update your look by buying two new 10.5 inch wide rear wheels and run the 9.5's up front.

For $450 they are a waste of money and will look like *** on a Z. They will also rub on the inside and the tires are the wrong size. I wouldn't take them if they were free.

245/40 and 275/40 is the most common tire setup for the z. Also if you want flush, or kindaflush or even sortaflush just throw those wheels back int he trash where you got them (probably ADR ebay crap) and buy a better set.

Im running 225/40/18 on the front and 245/40/18 on the back, thinking about putting the 245/40s on front and since you guys say 285s on the back will work then i will do that, would it look funny with 245/40s on the front and 285/35s on the back???

Just run a 275/40 , its not like you have extra power where you need the widest tire possible. Also you could also just buy two wheels like i also mentioned and get the proper wheels for 285's. A proper set of 285's really need a 10 or 10.5 inch wheel.
