After coilover but before alignment, the front is higher then the rear and the rear is rubbing a little bit. From what they told me the rear can't go any higher in the rear and the curb height is 25.5" - 26" all around. Do you guys usually go lower in the front so the curb height isn't even all around? Specs are BC BR coilovers, enkei Rpf1 18x9.5 255/35 Front 18x10.5 275/35 Rear
Curious to know.. on a 18x9.5/10.5 setup, what would you say performs better.. a 255-275/40 setup or a 265-285/35 setup?
On equal tires, the wider setup will be better. Slight change in gearing due to tire height , less rollover ( most will not ever feel that unless running some really crappy tires) and of course , more grip.
Trade off, MPG can be lower , gearing change , tires cost more.
Straight up street driving I recommend the narrow set. If you are buying quality tires and play on track or canyons , the wider setup is nice.
Silly question, my rear tires rub a little bit when I make a sharp turn, hit a bump and when I accelerate really hard. It is my DD and won't be able to get it fixed till next Monday. Is it okay to keep driving it?
Just to put more information out there, I'm on 18x10 265/40 +25 all around at the moment. When the car was at stock height there was no rubbing or issues of any kind. Now with the car lowered, the front rubs a little on the outside. At first it was the top most screw on the outside of the fender liner so I removed it, now it's only rubbing under the right circumstances on the tab that this screw went in. I will be raising the car around 1/4-1/2 inch shortly. The rear is perfectly fine, camber and toe were out of alignment a bit though.
I'm pretty sure I have it figured out but want to check before ordering.
I was planning on running the standard 245/40 front, 275/40 rear setup but i can get a good deal on 255/40 and am making sure that is ok to run on the front.
