Your front tire will be 5mm taller than a stock 225/45/18 and your rear tires will only be about 4mm taller than your fronts so you may expect your SLIP light to come on under aggressive driving.

Will work fine , but 275/35 or 255/40 would be better choices for the front with the 275/40 rear when keeping the car properly staggered for the electronics.

Default Best way to get rid of wheel gap in rear on all around same wheels?

Went with 18x9.75 +20 xxr 527 flat black all around and they look sick on my car but the wheel gap in the back on my 06 looks kind of strange. What's the best way to make it not look so obvious? Coilovers are obviously the way to go but outside of that what's the best way to go? I went with Federal SS595 265/35/18's all around. I'll post a pic when I get a chance. It doesn't look terrible but it doesn't look good on stock height. Any advice would be appreciated!

By using 265/35/18 in the rear, your tire circumference has decreased from stock 83.8in (245/45/18) to 79.5 in. Sidewall height changed from 4.3 inch to 3.7 inch resulting in a bigger looking gap due to a smaller tire remedy would be bigger tyres

+1 , 265/35 is a front tire, not a rear. Install a 265/40 or 285/35 out back.

Default tires help pleaseee

ok so i got a 06 350z base with 18x8 and 18x8.5 stock rims, tires are 225/45/18 front and 245/45/18 rear.

now im getting some new wheels, 18x9 +25 offset front and 18x10.5 +20 offset rear. so i need help with tires, i just purchased 2 brand new 245/45/18 which will fit the front wheels, but would i be able to do 245/45/18 front and 275/45/18 rear? would this set up work? or what would be a good setup?

i have read like 2o different threads and im still confused, some people do 255/35/18 and 275 or 285/35/18. im just dont want to affect my performance or anything, im trying to get as close as the stock, if i could do the same stock tires on the new wheels ill do it but i cant sence the new wheels are bigger.

plz need some help here, and yes i dod my research for days but still new help thanks

??225/45/18 would be the correct for the front. The size you selected would
work on a 17" wheel. With the width of your new front wheel,I'd select a
245/40/18.Also,a 255/40/18(my choice)would be great.
You have everal options for the rear tire.If you go with a 35 series tire,
you'll need a 295/35/18.However,my choice for a rear would be a 265/40/18.

245/40 or 255/40 front and 275/40 rear is what you need.

Would 45 and 40 really make a difference? I mean the car comes with 45 in front and rear, the only difference is the 225 and 245, can I just stay with 45s and just go wider so it can fit the wider wheels ?

^^ 225/45-18 and 245/40-18 have the same overall diameter, but 245/45-18 has a different overall diameter. So… You can run 225/45-18 or 245/40-18 on the front, but not 245/45-18. --Spike

A while back I ran 245/45/18 in the fronts with 265/40 in the rear before I had knowledge of tire sizes. It was actually -1.3% smaller in the rear. The front tires also looked really tall compared to the rear. I think if you had to, you can go with a 285/40 in the rear

I just don't get it, I though that the first digits lets says 245 is how wide the tire is.
The second digits 45 is how tall the tire is.
The tird digit 18 is of course the side of the tire.

Right or wrong ?

You've got it wrong dude

Side wall height is measured in aspect ratio.
For example a 265/40 has a taller sidewall of 4.2 inches to a 225/45 with a sidewall of 4 inches even though the 265 has 40 aspect ratio and 225 has 45 aspect ratio.

Damm, I guess I'll have to sell the 245/45/18 I have and go with 245/40/18 and 275/40/18, would that work ?

Don't know what brand tires you are looking at.Many may not have what you need.I've got a buddy that had the same size wheels as yours. The 255/40
front,265/40 rear(you could go 275)look great. Not aware of your budget.
But Hankook V-12's have just about every size you would want.
A great tire.

since your having trouble, here you go(see link). you want the height in the rear to be the same or a little taller, never shorter. also with 275/40/18 the sidewall is 40% of 275 on each side of the wheel. so [(275 x .40) x2]divided by 25.4] then +18=hight.

275/45/18/ would be 27.74" tall. and a 245/4518 is 26.68.
so yes it would work but not many tires come in that size. its also best to run the same tire front and back. (i didnt for a while and i didnt like it) it would be 'best' to get 4 new and sell the old but tires ARE pricey. i recommend bfg kdw2's as a tire but i dont think they come in that size nor do the v12's that i know of.
