18x10.5 +5 rear
265/35/18 all around

Total drop on the rear is about 1.8"

Im looking for a meatier setup on the rear's but wanting to retain the size/look of the front's.

I was hoping to reduce the underdrive from the rear combo as well.

What would work well witha 265/35 front?

Terra i know you suggested 275/35 front and 275/40 rear but i was looking at going with a 285 or 295 for the rears.

Would a 285/35/18 work decent with a 265/35/18 front?

The car is very neutral right now and i would like to keep the driving feel as close as possible to how it drives now.
285/35 would be a great rear choice , but you may have to remove your rear spacers. I run mine at +10 in the rear with -2.2 and have about 2mm of clearance under full compression.

295 rears will also be fine. Just remember, the more stagger you have , the more understeer you will gain. The car will not be as neutral as you had before. Coming up in front tire size will also help, 275/35 makes a perfect front tire with your width wheel.

Understood. I think i will shoot for a 285 this tire change, the rear fenders are rolled and i have about 10mm of clearance as it sits under full compression. Im okay with removing the spacer as i have open ended lug nuts. Thanks for the help.

Z1 sells slip on spacers without studs, makes them a bit cheaper to buy for us who already have extended studs. An assortment of sizes is always nice.

you will be perfectly fine, im running almost 2 inch drop in the rear and about 1.5 in the front with an 18x10.5 +20 265/35/18 and 18x10.5 +5 265/35/18 rear with no rubbing issues, before i got the fenders rolled i only rubbed in the rear on hard bumps. Stock rear camber and about -1.8 front camber.

Default Tire size help

Hey guys. Just noticed that my front tires are pretty bad and I need to change then asap. I am a total noob when it comes to tires, wheels and suspension. So my question is that can I run 275/40/18 all around. I have an hr on stock wheels. I need to order tires by the end of the day. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Your wheels are staggered so why would you order the same tire size all the way around? If you're not looking to upgrade, just get the same sized tires that are on your car now.

I want wider tires with more grip. I don't really like the staggered look. So am guessing I would have to add spacers. Not the biggest wheel and fitment type guy don't know much.

Ok it doesn't work that way for staggered wheels. By adding the spacer, you've done nothing to change the tire geometry on the rim. You're still putting a 275 on a 8" and 8.5" wide wheel. It's going to look very stupid and you need to go with a square(Square means all 4 wheels are the same size and width) set up to do what you're trying to accomplish. Grip and traction will be addressed by the tire themselves in this case… you're either going to get something for the staggered set up or get new wheels.

275 is too wide for the OEM front wheel, which originally had a 225. You could use 245/40-18 front and 275/40-18 rear. That will give you wider tires with the original diameters front and rear. Your speedo will keep its accuracy, and you won't screw up the TCS (if your car isn't a base).

So how would I get rid of the staggered look. I really like the oem wheels on my 07 and don't want to change them. I have seen threads with people with oem wheels and they don't look staggered. Kinda flush or stick out a bit which gives the car a more aggressive look. What do you suggest that I do?

Yes I have the base model so TCS shouldn't be a problem. Thanks, If anything I will order those specs that you suggested. Any comment on the staggered look and how to get a more aggressive look where the tires stick out a bit?

"Staggered" simply means the front and rear wheels are different sizes, and from what you're describing, I don't think that's what is bothering you. Sounds like you want the wheels to extend a bit farther out, closer to the lip of the fenders. If so, then spacers will do what you want. Maybe have a look at this thread:

https://my350z.com/forum/wheels-and-...er-thread.html

Look at the end of the thread to see an HR with 20mm front and 25mm rear spacers with the OEM wheels and stock-sized tires.

Default Wheel size help!

I'm looking to buy new rims for my Z but I don't really know anything about the specs/offset etc. My front tires are 225/45/18 and rear are 245/45/18 and a guy recommend 18x9.5 +22 front and 18x10.5 +22 rear? Is that fine? And if not can you lead me to the right direction? Thanks in advance!

tires are too small/narrow.

you need 255/40/18 and 275/40/18.
