What is the maximum one can lower the Z using a coilover, and the front/rear camber correction items assuming stock track wheels/tires.

Can 1.5"-2.0" be reasonably done? At 2.0" am I going to be rubbing on driveways? Exceeding the ability to get back to factory suspension settings?

If anyone has any experience at this drop let me know.

Don't forget to post some pics of slammed Z's. No photochop please.

sitting on the pavement is horrible for handling....about a 2 inch drop - and this needs to be done with the right coilovers and the right supporting parts for alignment, is easily attainable and lots of us here have it

@ 2" does the suspension hit the bump stops? I will be going with JIC FLT A2 coilovers, 350 Evo arm kit F/R, and SPC toe cam bolts. I have 275/35/19's on a 10.5 inch wide rear wheel with a 43 offset. In the front I have a 255/35/19 on a 9.5" wide wheel with a 31 offset.

Will I have rubbing @ 2"? Driveway clearance problems?

If you drop your car that low, there's no getting around it.. you WILL scrape. At a 1.5" drop, I can't make it into my work driveway without scraping. I can make it over speed bumps ok, but just barely.

One thing to keep in mind with that rear wheel setup... check the backspacing on the wheel.

I was running a 10.5" wheel, with a 43 offset, with a .6" drop... and the inside of the rim was rubbing against one of my Tein shocks! This was with my camber corrected (back to 1.6*), and when I took most "normal" driveways at any sort of angle.

I had to get a 15mm spacer (Eibach DRM spacer... they are awesome!), and now have no problems... but keep in mind, I am at .6" drop. With a 2"+ drop, it would just not work at all.

In your opinion..... with the 43 backspace on the 10.5" rim and the 15 mm spacer would 1.5" drop be out of the question without tire ubbing and the wheel hitting the shock?

well I am dropped 2 inches (front height is 25 inches from centerline to fender to the pavement), and while driveways, etc are a no go for me (not a big deal), speed bumpers are a non issue

I've never scraped by cats.....yours must sit very low in the car

As for suspension bottoming out, it really depends how big the bump is

Every car is different. I had my car dropped more than two inches and with Kinetix traction/camber arms I still had 2.9 degrees negative camber. Then my rear camber after a 4-5 months would progressively get back to negative 4+ degrees camber, so I bought the SPC toe/camber bolts and used these with the arms. Still my alignment wouldnt hold up, so I raised the car, now I am about 1.5" lower, and I have negative 2.1 degrees camber in the rear, slighlty out of spec but handles/looks great. Your gonna have to experiment, I wouldnt suggest slamming your car unless you like going through rear tires like its your purpose in life. Alberto<-----on 5th set of rears @ 49K miles
