Default For those with deep polished lips.....

Do you have a problem with people rubbing their fingers on the dirt that collects at the inside of the lip, near where the spokes connect to the lip? That dirt/dust collects fast, so even if I washed the car every day (which I don't), there would still be dirt there, and people would still rub their fingers on it. The reason it bothers me is that those lips scratch VERY EASILY. And it happens so fast, someone is leaning down looking at the rim and the next thing I know, they are rubbing the dirt with their fingers! It drives me nuts!

I don't let people touch my car. I don't even touch it....I close my doors with my shirt. If someone ran their finger across any part of my car I'd go nuts.

I try not to let people touch mine either, but A LOT of people are really rude about that. I guess I'm just going to have to tell people not to touch the rims right when they start looking at them.

It really urks me when women drag their high heals across the door panels, leaving scuff marks everywhere.

The bar soap? How does it keep dirt from collecting on the lip?

My polished lips scratch easy too. Heck just the dust and grit blown across them while driving scratches them sometimes. Nobody even has to touch them.

At least our z's have brushed metal door handles...painted handles and womens long finger nails don't get along too well. Scratches under and around the driver's door handle is a sure fire way to tell if it's been "lady driven" or not.

Ken (going out to blow the dust off of his wheels)

Tell them before they crouch down to look at your rim... DO NOT TOUCH.

Don't you hate it when people close your doors by the window. A clean window is like a magnet for people's greasy hands.

A little off topic but nothing gripes my a** more than when someone slams my door. Even when I tell people why the window rolls down when they first pull the handle. They still slam the dang door.

I'm like... Hello...Mcfly...weren't you listening???

Wax the painted parts, and use mother polishing compund/protectant on the lip (if they're not clear coated), then seal it. What little dirt does stick will mostly come off with a water hose.

How do you seal it?

I hate this too! As if the grease prints weren't enough, I was told by the person at the dealership that b/c our windows are frameless, closing the door by the window can misalign the window. I tend to believe this, since I've had both of my windows realigned a couple times b/c of wind noise. I notice that the service reps do this too, and I've actually had to tell them to knock it off.
