You can run the risk of chipping the paint, but other than that it will give you more room to work with

The cons are a poor fender rolling job and ruining your fenders and paint job. If you want to do it yourself places such as Tire Rack sell fender rollers for a decent price and you can charge your friends.

You'll always run the risk of cracking the paint, so make sure you find a good place that has experience and other customers / references you can check out. Other option is to trim the fender with a cutting wheel to avoid the possibility of cracking. I had mine rolled but the shop I went to had tons of experience and even had a chance to see their work on a Z before they did mine. Good luck!

Are you talking about Kartoyz in the bay area? I'm about to go there for my rolling neeeds. Just wondering what they charged you. Are there any other shops in Nor cal for fender rolling?

I'm trying to spend $100 or less.

I went to a shop in Sacramento and it was about 100.00 to roll. They did John's PPW Z before he traded it for an Evo Don't recall the name off hand but if you want it lmk and I'll dig it up for you. I'm running 19x10.5 +22 in the rear, lowered about 0.8 inch, -1.8 camber, with 285's.

F1 will most likely trim the rear fenders, the fronts you basically can only shave down the the liner. If they trim the rears have them do it evenly r to l, mine were done unevenly so one side has a little more inner fender lip edge than the other. Its hard to do it yourself due to having airtools that will trim the metal off like better versus a more uneven job done by home Dremel action.

Trimming the inner edge of the fender is also better due to no possiblity of paint cracking from improper heating and rolling of the fender.

is your car lowered? I remember talking to chris about this and he said i shouldn't have a problem if the car is on stock height. If it's lowered...depending on which set-up you go with you may ahve to roll the rear fender. I don't recall him mentioning any problems with the front.

Yes, please find the shops name. I would much rather go to sacramento than the bay area.

I wouldnt suggest "trimming" the rear quarters. There is a pinch weld there.Get a fender roller and go slow.Very slow.

I would recommend renting the fender rolling tool at rollyourfender.com for $50 and do it with a friend. It pretty simple if you can get a friend to help hold the heat gun. Just make sure you take the time to heat up the paint and you should be fine. The whole process took me about 2 hours.

+1, moisture can get in between these two body panels and eventually rust. I had my fenders rolled locally for $80, piant didnt crack at all. Do a search for my post on here, it was about 3 weeks ago, I posted pics of the finished fender and tool that was used.

Post pics of your car when you're done. I'm interested in the same set of rims. I love those challenges.

agreed! don't trim the rear or you'll lose the pinch weld possibly, and then ur inner fender well will separate from the outer body panel fender...YIKES! Roll it smooth and slow...make SURE the shop you go to uses a heat gun, otherwise they are clueless!
