Oversteer Problem
Hi Everyone,
I just swithced over the rear to 245/45 18 Toyo T1-R's and the fronts are still the factory RE040. the rear oversteers a lot now and even kicks in the VDC,and it tracks the road very bad now. Is this because of the two different brands or is that how the T1-Rs are?
Thanks in advance.

IMO it's the T1-R. I have the same tires and handling (oversteer )
is much worse than my stock tires. Can't wait till these wear out so I can get new ones.

i am surprise they SUCK so much. I've heard so many good things about them and here they are HORRIBLE tires. the old t1-s were much better then, and its sad to say that the RE040 are better who would have thought that

Sorry about the tires. Suspension modifications aren't going to make the tires better, they’re just going to “balance” the car. Lets say that the tires cost $300, and you're on a tight budget. Grin and bare for 15,000 miles, then toss the Toyo’s in the trash.

coilovers, sway bars and camber components would be the best option but there are other alternatives that are cheaper if your on a budget. i have all of the aforementioned upgrades and i am still on stock tires....but my car handles great. i can adjust height, ride stiffness, understeer and oversteer as necessary and have absolutely no tire problems such as feathering or uneven wear.
good luck with your situation
