Default Free upgrade from 19 to 20 inch rims

I have had rims ordered for two weeks. The dealer keeps telling me the rims that come to him are imperfect so he can not ship them to me. He is now offering me 20" niche rims for the same price as I was going to pay for the 19s. I told him no, but could call back for the 20's i'm sure. Any thoughts???

My Z is a black touring. The rims are black with chrome lip. The car is at the paint shop being painted blacker right now, so the wait is not a big deal. I will have the GReddy TT added within the year. I know the 20s will weigh more but is the differece that great? Please help soon. Thanks in advance.

The dealer has already upgraded me from ADRs to Sterns to Niche in order to get a clean set of rims. He is not charging any more for the Niche than he was for the ADR originally. I think he has treated me well, but I can not be sure. Thanks again, Rob Collins

typically the niche's are going to be more expensive than the stern's or adr's. niches are a good wheel. just depends on your taste i guess.

You’ll have less distance from the edge of the wheel to the road surface.

I tried to post pics last night but was unable because I could not figure it out. With advice I think I could post pics of all the wheels.

By "blacker" I only mean that the car was black from the factory, But I am having it custom painted black again to a more show car finish. I have had both Nissan badges, the front plate holes, and the mud gards removed. I have checked on the paint shop everyday and it appears they will begin painting today. I can not believe how they pulled the car completely apart for the new paint. It will be a sleeper, but a very hot sleeper.

This is just my opinion, but if I purchased wheels from a place and they called me up and tried to change me from the wheels I wanted to another regardless of cost I would cancel my order. I don't want shops dictating what products I buy. If you wanted ADRs, you should be getting ADRs. If you wanted 19"s, you should be getting 19"s. Don't let a "deal" cloud your judgement. I say get your money back and find another source for the wheels.

20" tires are alot more expensive than 19" tires... which are more expensive than 18 and so on and so forth..

since ur not going to be changing wheels all that often, tire pricing should affect what ur overall wheel purchase is... imho. 19s are the way to go for street.

The 19s and 20s both came with the tires mounted for the same price, but I do understand the next set would cost more. I think you are right about the 19s on the street. That was my gut feeling, but I would hate to not get the 20's and feel like I missed a great chance later. I'm going to get the 19's. Thanks for your input...

Actually the 19's and 20's in tires are around the same price. Well the first question is how do you feel about the wheels that they are offering you? You will be stuck with your decision, so go with what YOU want, we always try to suggest wheels to our customers when they are indecided about wheels, but if you already know what you want, then go with that. You will be the one rolling on the wheels not the shop.

just my 2 cents...

Good luck!

The dealer just called back and said he had Tenzo Racing Sports rims that he would substitute for me now. Has anyone heard of these? I have not, and do not want to get screwed. The dealer says that he is finding pock marks in the chrome lips of every set of rims he has received from the other companys, but these rims have a mirror finish and will not have any marks. Help, Help, Help! Are these rims worth looking in to?

Sounds like hes jerkin you around. I've never really seen multiple sets of wheels that have had pock marks from factory. It sounds almost like he's getting factory reject wheels or something. In all honesty I would try and get my money back ASAP. Something just doesn't add up here.

I just called back and said I would stick with the Niche that are being shiped to him now. I don't want crappy rims on my Z, and unfortunately I don't know the difference. You guys are great with the fast responce. I am so ready for some rims I'm liable to say yes to any substitute he suggests. Thanks for the replys. Rob

Get your money and run away as quickly as you can. He is definitely yanking you around. I doubt you will ever see your Niche wheels. By the way whatever you do DO NOT put Tenzo wheels on your 350Z. I would demand to see one of these pock marked chrome wheels.

Thanks, I asked to see one today and he said I really did not need to see it because it was so bad. After hearing all of this from you all, I'm starting to fear the worst. He is still taking my phone calls and returning my emails. I do not think he has charged my credit card yet. but I am going to double check right now. Thanks as always. Rob
