Default Best tires for our cars?

Well it didn't take long before I wore down the 245/45R18 Potenzas to the wear bar.

I'm lookin around for some other tires that have great tread life. I have a few ideas on what, but was just wondering what everyone else drives on.

Thanks

*edit* I suck at this forum stuff please move to the wheel/tire section

I’ve posted Consumer Reports recommendations so many times that members are sick of looking that the charts. BTW “great tread life” and performance are inversely related.

I'm buying a second set of wheels and tires eventually for track use only, this is just for daily driving. Leaning towards some falken azeni's, they're cheap!

I just put on a set of Michlins Pilot Sports. Great traction and best of all...no tire "roar" anymore!! Don't know about tread wear, but if I get 15k out of them I'll be happy.

Hey bro I would definately check out the Hankook Ventus! The tires are flat out SOLID! They lasted 22,000 miles on my N/A car, they look great, they run 180.00 per tire. They are less expensive than some others, perform just as well, and IMHO last a bit longer.

Check them out for sure!

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...ay.jsp?type=MP

Add Toyo T1 Rs to those listed above (Tirerack does not sell Toyos).

I'm convinced the Goodyear Eagle F1s are the best tire moving but they are not made in OEM 18" size so I went with T1 rs. So far so good with Toyos.

I've heard many good things about the BF Goodrich KDW-2's. They come in stock sizes for about $600 + shipping.

read the new issue of CAR AND DRIVER. They did a tire test. First place for dry traction is ADVAN NEOVA AD07. But if you are looking for long life then umm... nevermind.

There's nothing written in stone which says you must put summer tires on the 350Z. All season tires are an alternative. For additional tread wear and comfort you'll give up superior handling. Searching for all season tires may present two difficulties: size and speed rating.

+1

Toyo Proxes T1R's are working out great for me. So much quieter inside and a smoother ride than the crappy stocks. They cost me $765.96 [$819.06 installed with my new wheels].

Man, David, I think your doing a dis-service with that CR chart. Those tires don't have the speed rating needed for the Zzz. You need to find something else to post.

there is no such thing as the best tire - there are very good tires for the car, but the best is highly dependant on so many variables. There are also HUGE price differences between something like a T1R and PS2. You need to decide what budget you want to stick to and go from there.
