Indeed 255/40/18 for a 9.5 width wheel is pretty much low profile; but to be on the safe side, double check with someone who knows better

There are plenty of people running 9.5 +22 on the front. A 255/40 might rub in the front, but the rear fitment willl have plenty of clearance. You could still run a staggered tire set up even though the wheels aren't, 245/40 and 275/40 is the most common.
