when changing wheels you change 2 things - weight and your final gear ratio.

a bigger overall diameter will slow your accelration (it basically changes your gear ratio and would give you a higher top speed, but slower acceleration).

The weight reduction may offset the change in overall diameter...but remember, even if you find a 19" rim that weighs less than the OE rims, the tires will most lilkey wiegh more. (the wieght of wheels is a big deal b/c not only does the engine have to accelerate than forward, but also rotationally...)

You do not change the final gear ratio as long as you install the right size tires and keep the outer tire diameter the same.

And you will not find a answer because the trend here is looks not performance.

a. Bigger wheels mean that the mass is farther from the center. It takes more power to turn bigger wheels.

b. Generally you will drop the tire series from 50 to 40 or 40 to 30 providing less sidewall. Less sidewall means less wheel protection from hazards such as pot holes.

c. A 30 pound wheel takes more distance to stop that one that is 25 pounds. Members who are serious about performance go bigger wheels and bigger brakes.

Deciding on couple different set of wheels and wanted to see if anyone was running similar wheels. I'm thinking about buying:

Volk LE37T 19x8.5 +22 (f) and 19x9.5 +34 (r) or
SSR Professor 19x9.5 +18 (f) and 19x10.5 +30 (r)

Thoughts on the rear offset of +34 for the Volk?
Are the offsets for the SSR wheels to big of variance between the front and the rear wheels?
Does anyone know what the weight difference is between the two wheels?

Thanks in advance.

If you get the LE37's, at least get a +22 offset in the rear. If you want a more aggressive look and a lip with a 9.5" wheel, also consider the +12.

The professors are probably at least 5 lbs heavier per wheel.

Looking to buy the LE37s from private sale so the offsets are what they are.

If the Professors are at least 5 lbs heavier, I'm assuming they are not forged wheels.

I would go with the Volk. I love those wheels. I'm still trying to get a good deal on them. Best I got so far was approximately $3,700.00 for 9.5/10.5 +22 gunmetal w/ polished lip with Toyo T1-R 245/35/19 (f) 275/35/19 (r). I still prefer the 8.5/9.5 to save on the extra weight (plus I don't think the wheels need to be that wide), but most keep raving about the 9.5/10.5 setup. If any of you know some pros/cons on the two different setups, that'd be great!
