Default How much should I pay to get the TPS swaped to my new wheels??

Hi

My new wheels will come in by end of next week, and I am going to swap the TPS from my OEM wheel to the new one. How much should I be looking to pay the dealer?? (they quoted me around $100 over the phone). Is it something that any tire shop can do? How much would I be looking at paying at a normail tire shop???

Chris@DTD told me that the TSW Thruxton will work with the stock TPS, dose it???

Thanks

hey guy, doing the same thing here. one thing to consider is that if you have a normal tire shop swap the TPS's you still have to go to Nissan to have them re-registered. also make sure the original sensors gp back to the original location, ie drivers front sensor stays drivers front when swapped. the techs here also said it would take them about half hour to reregister, not sure how long to swap or cost.

You don't need to get them reregistered if you swap them properly. That is, FL to FL, FR to FR, etc. If the tire shop mixes them up, then yes, you need to get them reregistered.

when i got my 20" wheels put on they charged me $40 to have them swapped but i got them down to $20. I dont kno about having them reregistered but i dont get a reading from the gauge, its just a bunch of slashes but im happy my tire pressure light isnt on, that would be annoying. was worth my $20 and i can check my tire pressure myself

Sounds like my techs here want to charge me to reregister the TPS when not necessary. HMMM...
hey thrill, if you had the TPS swapped you should get a reading, not just slashes. maybe reregistered?

Thanks Dave, I just assumed you needed to have them re-registered.

they wont work on every wheel but they shouldnt charge you more than 40 bucks i did mine for free but i own a wheel shop. it's as easy as changing out valve stems. they are just worried about breaking 1 bc those things are expensive.

The Discount Tire in my area quoted me $60 to swap out the TPM valve stems and balance/mount 2 sets of tires.
