Default Widest tire on stock 18"

What is the widest tire I can put on my stock 18" wheels with no rubbing or sticking out from the fenders? Basically I want a wider tire on my stock wheels but don't want it to look or drive weird.

It shouldn't rub unless you put spacers on it AND get wider tires.

You can probably put about 245 front 265 rear. Not sure about the profile but it is probably 245/40/18 and 265/40/18 .

Hopefully some others can chime in, don't take my word as absolute.

Yup, Wired is right on... 245/40/18 and 265/40/18 is the exact set-up i have for stock '03 track rims. Front are wrapped in BFG g-force KDW 2's and rear with BFG Drag Radials.

Do you have pics of your 265's on your rears because when my factory rubber wears out, this is exactlly what I want to run as well, 245/40/18's and 265/40/18's on the stock '06 (2005 Anniversary) wheels.

Drag radials?? Do you run those sizes just at the drag track or can/do you corner with them too?

How does the fender gap look with the 40s vs the stock 45 sidewall?

Pics?

i dont really recommend using this set-up as a daily driver, because just as you pointed out, cornering will get a bit dangerous since the tires a bit wide for the rim. So this is just my track set-up. I switch back to my Volks for daily driving. lll try to get some pics up.

I'm running 255/40/18's all the way around on the stock touring 18's. Here's a rear shot. I don't see any reason for 265's not to fit. A friend of mine squeezed 275's on the stock 18's. I don't know how, but he did.

What about a set of 8" wide wheels with a +17 Offset?

Check out this thread. It has more pics. I have Tanabe GF210 Springs installed currently. It dropped the car 1" in the front and 1.2" in the rear.

The stock touring 18's are 18x8" all the way around with a different offset for the front and rear.

I'm riding on 245/40-18 and 275/40-18 and I think they're great. There's some room but it's not bad. (On non-stock rims though).

With a black car it's tough to see the gap as much. And since the sun never comes out here in Portland and we get so much rain, I don't really have any bright pics. I lightened these pics so that you can see what the 245/40's look like up front, 275/40 in back.

I have 245 front/275 rear and my VDC is just fine. So 245/265 should be ok as well.
