The Hell Is Up With My Balancing
ok, so got my wheels balanced.
b4 they used to start shakin at about 50mph and up.
now they start at about 75mph but only on a str8away until i take a right turn on the expressway, after that i can do 150 if i wanted to w/o any problem. but then i do a left turn on the expressway and BOOM the shakin at 55 - 75mph starts again...
can that be my alignment? this started rite after the new balance job..

If the shake stops after a right turn and comes back after a left turn I would guess suspension or steering. I'd be taking the car to a good suspension shop to have it looked at. If you can try to isolate where the shake is coming from (like which end or corner of the car), because you might be able to see an issue if you have an idea of where to look.
Since I don't know how handy you are mechanic-wise I can suggest a few things from my own experience. Try jacking up one end of the car at a time and pulling both of that ends wheels off. Look for wear on bushings, any fluid trails anywhere that don't match side to side (that also can't be explained as water off the road). Have someone turn the steering wheel for you and make sure the steering arms are moving in similar fashions.
This might take you an afternoon to do, but probably better than paying a mechanic to figure it out for you.

neon, sorry if i jack your thread.
I have a problem just like this its weid though. My tires are good. not bald nor off balance. The car isn't to far out of wack.
When I drive the I-state up until 75-80 the car is perfect. At 80 when i release the gas to about 1/4 throttle the car has a terrible shake. My friends mentioned that the wheel looks like a kid put it on half-asses. I just check this weekend and everything is tight and on there.
What could this be. I will be installing my coilover, and all my camber part soon. and then getting the re-aligned. So maybe it is really out of wack and I dont know it. This has never happend except on bald a$$ tires on my old car.
Thanks Guys. Sorry neon.

I just thought of something else too. You might just have a bad tire. It could balance just fine (after all that is a weight thing not a load on the tire issue). I recently put new tires on my truck (old ones had a fairly good amount of tread left, but were showing a few other signs of aging). The truck stopped wandering immediately and a few odd vibrations vanished too. They were 285/75 16's on and F150, not quite a Z, but very definitely RWD. lol.

It could be several simple things. 1. They did not balance your wheels right 2. They did not tighten the lugs to spec or they are loose 3. What is the location of the balance weights? they should be closest to the center of the rim 4. If the tire has sustained any damage like potholes and such it can screw up the tire and cause vibration. Uneven tire wear or alignment issues. I know this might sound dumb but make sure they did not put the bigger tires on the front or mismatched.
