Default Two-piece wheel/TPS

I'd like to get some light-weight wheels, e.g., SSR Comp-H (2pc, welded, SSF, Forged, 15.9lbs), but I believe I remember reading on this forum about problems installing the TPS on this type of wheel. Yes, no, maybe?

You can install the TPS on any wheel. There is no limit as to which wheels you choose.

Not quite. On some wheels, two-piece w/ big lips in particular, the TPS sensor will not fit in the stock location. You CAN still uise it, however; it6 just has to be mounted differently. You have to use the banding method (do a search) and put a regular valve stem on the wheel.

Exactly, that's why I said that the TPS can be mounted on ANY wheel.

Yes, but you were vague. I'm sure the guy had no idea about banding and would have been like WTF??? if he bought expensive rims and discovered they couldn't mount up like stock.

Well there is a sticky on the wheel forum about TPS usage on any wheel. All the guy needs to do is search a bit.

Don't use the banding method, they tend break after a while. Some multi-piece wheel manufacturers (Maya, Lowenhart, Ace Forged) have another hole drilled on barrel to accept the TPMS.

Interesting; hadn't heard of that method. You'd think it would stick out from the barrel alot mounted like that... suck to get a flat and cruch your sensor...

Where is your data on this?? If done correctly, there is no reason at all why it would break.
