TPS sensor
I want to buy some Work S1's but i dont want to comprimise the integrity of my electronics. what can i expect by changing my stock wheels? Ive heard warning lights go off and beeps but what can i do to prevent that. Or do i have to buy new TPS sensors from the dealer for my new tires. Also cant i reuse the sensors from the stock tires? any suggestions would be great. please help. thanx!
I have the S1's and the dealer could not reprogam them to work. My previous set of Works had zero issues, so I'm not sure what the deal is with these. I banded the sensors on both sets of wheels since the stock TPS will not fit in the S1's.
I just had my stock TPS sensors installed in my new 20 inch Asanti's. I just had them drill another hole to mount them in and they work beautifully. No lights or beeps, and they read the right tire pressure. You can have them drill a hole in the inside of the wheel behind a spoke, you wont even see them. Piece of cake.

If you end up wanting to sell them, you just pull them out and replace them with rubber valve stems, simple.

Call me crazy, but when you have a 2500 dollar tire pressure monitoring system built in stock to your brand new Z, it would be nice to use it. Just my opinion and reasoning behind keeping my TPS system working, but you guys can take it for a grain of salt.
Yes, I am crazy, but atleast I know when I need air. LOL

Just an update for anyone who is interested. Your stock TPS will work with aftermarket wheels. I have now used my original sensors on two sets of aftermarket wheels using the banding method and they work fine.
Now as far as Performance Nissan telling me that they wouldn't work cause the wheels were too big has now been debunked. Now, if you plan to use sensors other than your original stock ones, I cannot say whether there will be issues or not since Performance couldn't read the ones that I brought them. I speculate that it was lack of knowledge at the dealership. That is just a guess though.
