Default Purchasing new tires

Hi everyone,

I have about 25k miles on my Z. I have changed the rear wheels. THe front wheels are still stock potenzas. The tires on the rear are Toyos4.

After switching out the back tires, I feel that my Z has more body roll on the freeway when switching lanes at higher speeds. This never happened before i switched out the back tires.

Could this be due to the Toyos having softer side walls? Or could the different tread patterns in the front tires and back tires?

Should I just purchase 2 new toyots for the front tires? I really don't want any body roll. Or should I purchase 4 new set of tires? What brand can i get for about $200 per tire?

You should run 4 of the same, ie, buy new fronts as well!

You can do much better than 200/tire on ebay and possibly through some of the sponsors. Some people favor discount tire (tires.com) and tirerack.com too. Just figure out what you want and start searching.

But I would suggest getting all 4 tires at this point since you know you want to replace 2 and the fronts have 25K.

Hi thanks for the advice.

Are the toyos bad tires? Is this causing my body roll? Or is it the fact that i am running diffferent front and rear tires?

Mixing tires gives different results. Not better or worse just different. If you go to 4 of the same tires, the result will be different than it is now.

For unbiased testing and recommendations check Consumer Reports.
