Why won't my Volk GT-7's fit on my 2005 Base?

Why won't my Volk GT-7's fit on my 2005 Base?
So please help me out: I bought 19" Volk GT-7's in 2003 for my 350z touring (automatic). I put Bridgestone potenza S-04 pole positions on them.
I traded the Touring in in 2005 for a Base (manual) but of course took the wheels off first. I recently tried to put the Volks onto the Base. However, they don't fit b/c there is some additional bolt sticking out of the plate that won't fit into the Volks (the stock rims have a bigger cut out). I only saw this on the front right wheel b/c once that didn't fit, we just gave up.
Volks size:
Front: 19x8.5", +23mm offset
Rear: 19x9.5", + 24mm offset
Tire size:
Front: 245/35R19
Rear: 275/35R19
So am I totally missing the boat on this? Can anybody confirm that GT-7's (at least those made in 2003) don't fit on a 2005? Hopefully it's just an easy fix??

You probably didn't know this but the 2005's that have that bolt are factory rejects and should immediately be taken back to nissan for an exchange, hurry or the wheels will fall off if you don't do it quick enough. No really just take a wrench to the bolt and put the wheels back on easy fix.

If I've got your description correct, the "bolt" is there simply to prevent mounting stock fronts onto the rears, and vice versa. The bolt is easily removed and serves no other purpose. I had the same question when mounting Enkeis to replace stock. I posted here and got immediate help from members. I'm SURE there is a thread on this because I posted in it. I respectfully suggest you search. Good luck.

Because searching the original thread would have answered the question in the first place. Also, if I remember correctly, there were some funny stories about what various dealerships told owners when asked the purpose for the bolt.

Agreed, the search function in its current form does suck. But, even being a long-term member w/ lots of mods, I've found it helpful (SOMETIMES) at least for narrowing my question. Someone recently suggested a temporary shutdown of "search" for much needed improvements. I agree 100%.

The baby is coming along good. 14 weeks (out of 40) and I'm at 118 (gain of 5-6 pounds). Don't know the sex yet. Thanks for asking!
