Default G35 TPMS on 350z?

Well I'm getting 4 tpms from a friends g35 that I'm going to put on my 350z's after market wheels...my question is will nissan be able to recalibrate this fine since the tpms might be different from a factory Z vs a G..

They're all the same. You can use the G's sensors on the Z.

Default Tpms help!!

Hey guys,

So I might be purchasing used wheels. They come with tpms, but the tpms are from a g35. Would they still work on my z? Also, just curious, are all tpms interchangeable?

Yes they will work, yes they will need to get programmed to your car to work, and NO, not all TPMS is the same.

I know this thread is a little old, but am hoping someone will see this and maybe help with a couple of my questions. I have a 06 G35 coupe. It looks like one or more of my TPMS sensors have gone bad. Does anyone know how much the dealership charges to identify which have gone bad and to reprogram a replacement TPMS sensor for your car?

On another note, it looks like the TPMS sensors labeled 40700-CD001 work for all 350Z/G35 models. Mine is a 06.

Thanks in advance for anyone's help!

After you buy the used TPMS, do you take them to dealership and have them recalibrate?

thats what I understood. If they're from another car, you have to get them reprogrammed at the dealership.

If I compare an 06 G and 06 350Z they are the same. I need your specific model year to make sure in your case.

If the question was directed at me, I'm not sure what other information you require. I know you're trying to help and I appreciate it. What specific model year are you referring to? I have an 06 G35 coupe, OB color, sport package. Is there something in particular you are looking for?

Thanks,

TPMS sensors are consummables like an air filter nowadays. I hate the darn things and just check pressure monthly with the old gauge. Plus with sudden blowouts they don't help you, and with slow leaks you should be able to tell the car is dragging.

on g35, the tpms light comes on if one of the tpms is bad.
Any way to keep the light off?

Huh? Consummable? Hardly, they are a PITA to replace but fortunately they last 7-10 years or more in some cases.

Slow leaks are the very reason that TMPS exist and are now required. With modern radial tires, it impossible to visually tell that a tire is low. Running on underpressured tires is the case of the vast majority of blowouts. The change in handling and the "car is dragging" feeling is so subtle from a slow leak, you'd never notice it. TPMS warns you when you're 25% below the rated inflation pressure, it will detect low pressure long before the majority of drivers would notice.
