18x9.5 on all fours?

(1) 265/40/18 Front, 275/40/18 Rear like you said (Same HT diff vs. stock),
(2) 255/40/18 Front, 265/40/18 Rear (Same HT diff vs. stock), OR
(3) 255/40/18 Front, 275/40/18 Rear (2xSame HT diff vs. stock)
More than anything, I'm hesitant about 265 fitment up front and don't want to have to roll fenders right now.
Also, if I'm going staggered tire, maybe I should just consider 18x9.5, +20 Front Wheels/18x9.5, +12 Rears instead of 18x9.5, +12 all around? (to give me that 8mm extra width clearance). But I don't know if that'll look as "bad-***" as the concave +12s all around.
I would just get 18x8.5 fronts, but I'm thinking (A) about resale value and how only a few might opt to pay good money for 8.5 up front, (B) I think I'd just rather have 9.5s up front for looks, but not if it can't be done, and (C) if WORK ever releases a 10.5 for the Rear, I could just move my 9.5s up front, get rid of a pair, and really have some nice wide/stagger.
Man, I'm killing myself trying to make a "perfect" decision!

I think the Goodyear GS3s come in the 275/35~40 sizes. There are about a dozen different tires in these sizes in a summer category, most are not cheep. Thing is, the Kuhmos are so much better than stock that it was still a vast improvement.
Let me know if these pics help. The back could easily take a 10mm with these tires without any body mods, and I may do that down the road but I like the front just where they are.

HyperSprite, the car looks HOT.

I'd probably do a 12 on the rear and around a 20 on the front, but I wanted you to take the hit first on 12's all around to see how it would work. I'm interested in 265's all around too.
I have a TT car, and I just bought those same wheels. Work CR Kai 18x9.5, +22mm all around.
I was thinking of going:
18/35/265 fronts, 18/40/295 rears.
That "middle number" 35~40 determines the height of the wheel correct? Thanks!

That'll understeer, no? Do the 265/275.

From what I've read, 265's all around doesn't cause issues with VDC, and creates a more balanced car. Some go 275 or 285 all around. I personally see no reason to go narrower than a 265 in the front.

This thread suddenly went to Newbville. =(
Seriously people you need to look at your tire sizes a little closer. A 35 series tire means the sidewall is 35% of the tread width(275 or whatever you choose). The difference in tire height between a 275/35 and a 275/40 is an inch. It will make your car look like it's got more wheel gap than it should if you put a 275/35 on the rear.
A 245/275 setup shouldn't understeer anymore than stock. In fact it may be less understeer since you're actually increasing the front tire grip by 9% which is where the majority of your braking and weight shifts too in a corner.
A 275 front tire would be a 21% increase over a 225 which should dramatically decrease understeer.... possibly resulting in a loose feeling with too much oversteer. This is where you can fine tune your setup with swaybars, spring rates, dampening, camber adjustment, etc.

I am running the Nismo 18x9.5 (+30) all the way around on 275s (35 front/40 back) with 0 issues, the steering is not heavy, no rubbing, and good tire wear. They look pretty flush to me. I would say they are maybe 5mm in, if that.
Another thing to keep in mind with the Z is the weak spindle/wheel bearings, and the further you go out the more stress you put on them. Current pricing for factory wheel bearings is 185 from mynismo.com, in case you wanted to know.
