Default Front Tire Issue WTF!!!

I've read some of these threads about the 03 and 04's having the front camber problem which causes the tires to wear on the inside. I've also read how Nissan allegedly fixed it. Well guess what? My 05 roadster is having the same F'en problem. This is what my dealership told me, "the problem wasn't fixed on the 03 and 04's that Nissan just threw new tires at a bunch of people to shut them up until their warranties ran out." he continued to add "all Z's have the problem, it's a design problem and it can't be fixed and wont be fixed until they redesign it ." If that wasn't enough to **** me off he added, "plan on replacing your front tires once a year." which is about right.

What the hell do I do write letters to Nissan, where the F**K is that going to get me? I think I'm going to trade it in on a Porsche Cayman.

Any thoughts as to what I should do?

i think nissan finally corrected the problem not until the 06 models......
how do i know that cuz my 03 is currently riding on a set of 06 oem wheels/tires with at least 10k miles on them. There is no roaring or cupping anywhere.

I think you answered your own question, apparently Nissan aint going to do crap! I'll never buy another Nissan myself! Here are my choices, camber problems and whoknows what other problems since 2003 models to oil comsumption issues. Pick your choice! Yes, go buy a Cayman if you can afford it.

I've had no problems with my 2004, and I could care less about the "camber problems" since they were designed that way originally to help turn-in, no? If you want a car that saves tires get a Camry. Or you can spend a couple hundred and get camber arms.

??
Are you saying that the 06+ models have had the feathering issue repaired by replacing the tires and wheels?
The fact that your 03 is riding on 06 OEM tires/wheels without issue really has no relevance as to whether the 06 models no longer have feathering.

First off, it was a Toe setting, not camber. If you look at the numbers of people who posted here with 03 and 04 models who had the feathering problem, there are virtually none with 05 and 06 who have reported the same. I had it and after a realignment to correct toe-in, the problem has not returned.

Nissan issued two TSB's on the problem, to say that they threw a bunch of tires at us to shut us up is not correct or true from what I've seen, heard and personally experienced.

I can't imagine anybody at a dealership making the statements you posted here. Sounds like somebody has an axe to grind.

the 06 oem tires have over 10k miles on them w/o cupping or feathering..... the feathering issue should have shown up 3-5 thousand miles ago in an 06 if the feathering issue still exists, shouldn't they?

Ask in the regional forum for recommendations for a suspension shop. A shop that knows the difference between setting-up a performance sports car and a Cadillac.
