Default Volk Dilemna...

So i'm in the market for a set of 19" Volk wheels.
Either GTS or GTC...
There is an offer that i have for a set of used Volk GTC 19x8.5F/9.5R 23/27 offset i think. I believe they have a 2" lip rear, 1" front.
They are 1500, 5K miles, no damage.. good deal i would say

ORRRR

save up, get a set of 19x9.5F 19x10.5R Silver Volk GTS wheels & tires for 3200$..not sure what my best bet will be..kinda limited on csh but i don't want to make a mistake and get stck with rims i don't want..

any advice? thanks

Well tell us more info. What color is your Z? Do you have any body kit on currently? What color are the GTC? Price on the GTC? If the GTC match your car well and you save tons of money and you're 50/50 on the 2 rims, go with the GTC! It's an easy choice. Personally I was choosing between Volk GTC and WORK Meister S1 and I chose WORK. See the money that you save can be put toward other mods!

well i have an 07 DBz 6spd so i definately want volks for the lightweight.
it's stock right now but i'm looking into either the Veilside, INGS, or JP Type A bodykit eventually. The GTC's are Silver wit ha polished lip and the price i can get them for is 1600 shipped(used but no flaws).

The only reason why i don't like the rims are becasue they are 8.5F/9.5R which are small lips and i've always been a huge lip fan.
The Volk GTS have 2.5F/4.7F for lips which is very nice, lol. but they're also about 3200 for a set with tires as opposed to the GTC's which would be 2400 with tires.

Not sure, tough decision.

They are mine too, i'm just cut on $ right now. i Can afford the GTS but then i'd have to wait longer to grab a bodykit/spoiler.

Anyone have these GTC's 8.5/9.5 on their DBz?

You pretty much answered your own question.. lol. I say get the GTC and get some spacers and get some wider tires. That 1" difference on width won't be that obvious. But that $1200 you save is enough to get a whole body kit! But it's all my opinion anyway.

I was looking for 19" GTC gold for my ppw roadster, but din't want to wait 90 days, therefore I got gold GTS and man the GTS are awsome, the lips are the biggest ever seen.

Yeah i hear ya, i would prefer the GTS hence the look and also the lip but i'm really not sure if i should spend that kind of money.

GTC's look nice, not sure how they would be in silver on a dbz

The volk GT wheels aren't light. My 19x9.5 GT-C is 27 pounds, compared to my 18x9.5 RE30 at 18 pounds. But they do look nice

GTC 27 lbs on the 19x9.5? That's without tire right? Man.. and everyone bragged about how light their Volks are. I guess the TE and CE are lighter. When I bought my WORK Meister S1 3 pc 19x9.5, people commented and said its heavy because the spokes are casted.

20 inch axis shine's would look sick.

massive lips on the rears.

you can get a set of used 20 inch gtc's for around $2500 also.

plenty of options for around $2500.

why does everyone love the GT-S so much? i think they are good but man, i swear if lets say a similar design like the SF Challenge came out the same time as the GT-S, I think it would be no contest and the Challenge would be the more popular choice.

that's probably true. everyone loves the gt-s cause there the new sf challenge's on the block hence the phrase "out with the old in with the new."

I love the GT-S more because it's not as "curvy" in the spoke design. The GT-S has sharper spokes with clearer outlines and more agressive look so that's why I picked it. I guess you can say the same with just about any nice designs that everyone will get them. But then again how many Zs in your city has it? It might seem like a lot on the forum but within your own state not many people has them....(this excludes Cali since there are so many Zs haha)

to the OP - I'd say wait for the GT-S. You'll be much happier but the lip on the GT-C you described are really really really small. 2" in the back is like nothing...even my GT-S (less agressive offset at +30 front / +28 rear) has 2" lip front and 4" lip rear bro.

Sorry I'm going to hoard my pics a bit too

GT-S ftmfw! more pics here https://my350z.com/forum/media-share/267832-guys-night-out-taking-pics-of-the-z-after-3-months.html
