Default 07 Z getting new wheel bearing

Last week I drove to Chicago from Texas for leave. The trip was about 3500 miles total. On the way back I heard a kinda "wobble" noise from the front right wheel. I also felt vibrations in the car that went with the sound. I had it at the stealership and they ordered the part, then askng if I had drove over 100 mph a lot since I got the car. (I had to ask what was considered A LOT.) Yes I had quite a bit I was around 140 mph on the way to and from Chicago. He said, " thats why it went bad, the car can go that fast but not all the time." Ok ill give him that. But my car only had 8500 miles / 3 months on it, and thats bull ****.

Any one else have this problem?

that seems a bit premature... and it was not really his business to ask that kind of question...asking questions about illegal behavior is a no no. it's like being gay in the army, don't ask don't tell. LOL

are you kidding me? LMAO what a dork!!! When a dealer asks you if you've driven your car over 100, your response should be. "No i have never been over 80 miles per hour in this thing."

exactly... never tell your dealer you've been burning rubber all day or re-inacting tokyo drift... just tell them you were on your way to get groceries and visit your grandma , going the speed limit and it started doing that out of nowhere.

yah never admit that you go over 100 to the dealer, they can use that as an excuse to not fix anything, they'll just say your not supposed to go 100. you have no case

As far as I know.... The racetrack has no speed limit. Doesn't Nissan sell a "TRACK" model Z with Brembos? What an idiot.

LOL.....The dedalership was a dumb ***. Nissan would have never designed the Z if it couldn't handle more than 100+mph. And its a brand new car! They were trying to find a way out of the warranty. Bunch of scum bags...

you people are retarded if you think driving over 100mph or admitting it can void your warranty.

I have had a nissan tech IN MY CAR with me testing out the replaced rear hub bearings well over 100mph. < DID NOT VOID MY WARRANTY

stop OT'ing this thread with USELESS COMMENTS.

Its a sports car. They cannot void your warranty for driving it like it was intended to drive.
Nor have I ever heard of a wheel bearing going bad for driving too fast.
Just like a tech told me one time My synchros went bad cuz my car was lowered. I told him he was retarded and for that comment i wanted another tech working on my car that actually knows something about cars.

i wasn't saying it'd void your warranty. Was just trying to save the guy some hassle.

in certain situations I would agree. if you have a relationship with the dealership (and you should if you owned a Z under warranty... lol) then you know what you can and cannot say.

I had a dealer replace my transmission and do a clutch/flywheel install for free and the whole time I hung out with the service manager and talked about drag racing my car. then he gave me the shop car to drive around in... I am 23 BTW, so I'm not getting the elders treatment. I look like I'm 19.

But yeah, to avoid hassle, I understand your point. sometimes speed is important. when I took the tech out is was because I had a shimmy in the steering above 80 and 'they could not replicate' because a tech can only go 65 in your car. turned out to be a nail IIRC

So after having it at the dealer over and over......and over. I also got new tires and an allingment. They even put Yok's of there. And that solved the problem. Gotta love when Nissan gives you new rubber FREE.

Well I did at first. Then I got home and cleaned all the rubber scuffs off the rims they so nicely left. And then I saw why they left it on there. THEY SCRATCHED ALL my f'ing rims. I was a but pisses. Remember this is a new 07. I go back and the manager denies it was their fault. He even gets the tire changer out there to prove it. The changer looked at him and said " you know that red ring we use on 350's, that does this to all the new rims 06 and 07, he is just the first to notice. The manager took the tire changer into the office and told the boss. I then left my car there for 2 days to get new rims and they gave me a Chevy Aveo for a damn rental.

In the end alot of headache new stuff on the car, and the knowledge to never go to that dealer again. Talk about some shotty work.
