Are Koyo the same as Axis??
I was looking around for some rims. I talked to a guy at a wheel shop that said Koya are the same makers of Axis... Is this true??? I was thinking of getting 19's and run the 275/30/19 set up in the back. I looked around and saw some people run into Traction Control triggers with certain set-ups... Has anyone had a problem with that size??
Thanks alot guys!
Thanks alot guys!

Not sure about the Koyo vs. Axis deal....I thought Koyo made radiators and tranny coolers and stuff but I might be wrong. Regarding tire size, you should probably stick with 275/35/19 or 285/35/19 in the rear to keep the car happy. Plus unless the car is lowered by a decent amount the 30 series tire will make the rear wheel gap really pronounced.

Any pics of the Koyos? I saw a car that had wheels identical to my Silver Axis Hiro's, except that the center caps were different than the Hiro's, same 3 alan mounting screws though but just a different style center cap. There were no identifying marks on the wheels or center caps, so I hade no idea who made the wheels.

This is what I have been told by a knowledgeable dealer....
Koya is the other half of the partnership that dissolved from Axis. Evidently, the Koya company owner split off from Axis and has the rights to the Axis wheel "patterns". I believe that both company's wheels are manufactured in the same facility.

Unfortunately the knowledgeable dealer is very incorrect. Axis and Koya have nothing to do with one another.
Sure Koya may have aquired the "old" molds we used or reproduce a similar style wheel, but we have no affiliation with Koya whatsoever, and copyright infringement is currently being assessed. No "rights" for our wheels have been released.
The Axis wheels and Koya have no relation in business nor factories.

I totally understand. Even qualified dealers/stores and sellers are misinformed, not you. You just wrote what someone stated. BUT in the wheel industry, that's how rumors are started, and I hear stuff all the time. Good and bad.
Sorry, no more Milano's. Actually we stopped producing that design because we saw 5 copies at the SEMA show 2 years ago. Thus Koya, Monet, etc, etc.
Wheel business.

oh, so then I assume Axis stopped producing this wheel, since it's a copy off a Volk GT-V? as well as about three other designs I glanced at?
it's funny when one knock off manufacturer is talking about other knock off manufacturers like they are something different

those spokes are wider and taper more not as exactly similar as the Works are, but I understand what you are saying but judging by the fact that there are two exact copies (licensed?) surrounding it I think the case is clear...

Thanks Motormouth.....
But you did not read my post AND the original post by Tartman. This is not about which wheel design looks like what, it is about Koya and Axis being "related".
Thus Axis and Koya (staying on thread topic) ARE different companies. That is what we are discussing.

There is alot more to it I cannot comment on, especially in a public forum. I was only trying to answer and explain the situation without tons of details.
You'd completely understand. Trust me.
