Does 275-40x18 work on the stock 18x8.5" rear rim? I am thinking of going this way as well, with the 245-40x18 on the front. The diameters are virtually the same as the stock 225/245-45x18" that came on it.

275/40-18" is too wide for an 18x8.5" wheel.

I was running Eagle F1 GS-D3 summer tires all around, but my rears ran out and I couldn't find them again in the right size, so I put the Eagle F1 All Seasons on the back wheels. I would have preferred GS-D3's but it doesn't feel like there's a big difference. I generally have to try if I want to break loose - they hold the ground well.

Davidv - How have the Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season tires held up in the cold weather in the last few months? I know it hasn't snowed much around here this year but have you had a chance to drive them in the snow? I think my next set of tires will either be the Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season or the Pirelli PZero Nero M&S.

I did manage to drive once in about 2 inches of snow. The tires were OK but still you must be careful. This morning it was 17 degrees and the tires were great.

I am not a tire fanatic. I just adjust my driving to cope with any tires faults.

What do you guys think are the best tires for season in Phoenix, AZ. It actually is raining here fairly often for AZ weather this year.

Get summer tires. The weather is never truly bad enough to need all-seasons. In the rain many summer tires perform better than all-season tires anyway.

I'm half and half right now.....fronts are Eagle F1 GSD3 (summer) and rears are their all-season counterparts - ONLY because I couldn't find the right size when replacing the rears. I would have gotten the summer tires again. Rain isn't a problem, they handle in wet conditions extremely well.

Why would you need all-season tires in Phoenix? How much snow do you expect?
